I highly recommend the room with Level Pool Access. It is definitely worth it. The lounge is also very good, with great food, drinks, and a nice atmosphere. This was the first time back since they completed the renovations. Had an amazing time. Baw made our stay especially great with his helpfulness and friendliness. The entire team was lovely. Possibly the best breakfast selection I've ever seen. Can't wait to go back.

We like the accommodation at the boat, easy access to the wifi’s and the lagoon pool.
The infinity pool wasn’t available until our last day and it was very disappointing. The breeze restaurant took our order for dinner and lost it after leaving us waiting for an hour. The room service for dinner that we ordered on our first night was late by over an hour. Breakfast buffet was limited.
It was very big and spacious, clean and green. There was 2 big pools and alot of garden areas.
There is no kids area and adults area. The kids were everywhere and there were no SPA facilities, jaccuzzi, ice bath, cold bath.
The service by the pool and beach were not great, it takes a long time to get someone’s attention if you are on the beach beds. Also, the staff had a hard time opening a tab, its best if you sign to ur room.
I have been meaning to write this review since October 2025, however I will say in this case, better late than never.
Our stay at Melia Koh Samui was nothing short of exceptional. We’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful places over the years, but this was genuinely the best holiday we have ever had.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, always greeting us with genuine warmth and kindness. The level of service throughout the resort was outstanding. We were greeted with warmth and kindness at every interaction. No question was too big or too small for the team.
We were lucky enough to have booked the level package, meaning we had lounge access, private check in and other perks during our stay like free transport to and from the airport and a free massage.
The resort itself is absolutely stunning. The grounds are immaculate, the atmosphere is peaceful and luxurious,there are staff out maintaining the ground every morning and they too greet you with a smile. Our boat suite was beautiful, comfortable, and was the best room we have ever stayed in during a holiday.
We were able to rent a motorbike with the help of the staff at the hotel, we saw so much of what a beautiful island Koh Samui is.
What made this holiday so special wasn’t just the beautiful setting, but the feeling we had throughout our stay. This was mostly due to the incredible hospitality of every single staff member. They are truly so happy to have you as their guest.
Thank you to everyone at Melia Koh Samui, especially Lisa, Queen, Seen, Tamarind, Keng, the kitchen staff who made the special Loy Krathong celebration unforgettable, our driver when we arrived and departed, and all of the other staff we had the pleasure of meeting. The bed is small. The pool was under maintenance.
We booked this hotel expecting the peaceful, luxury experience advertised. Instead, we arrived to ongoing renovations around the pool area, with constant construction noise throughout the day. The noise was so loud that even the manager had difficulty hearing our conversation when we raised our concerns.
The most disappointing aspect was that we were not advised of these works before arrival. Had we known, we would have chosen alternative accommodation. Guests paying premium rates deserve transparency when major facilities and the overall guest experience are affected.
I had a fantastic day at Meliá hotel, the food and drinks were delicious and the staff were fantastic! Lah who works behind the bar couldn't be any more kind polite or helpful, she made me feel very comfortable! Thanks lah
An absolutely beautiful hotel, the canal pool was the highlight of our stay. Never experienced anything like it before! We had a level connecting room meaning we had access to the level lounge, all the staff were so lovely. Specifically Kim, who reccomended many restaurants and activity's, booking them for us! Also made my little sister a bracelet which was adorable. Pink and fern were also very helpful remembering all our names! We were very happy about the compensation given due to the main pool being closed. 1,000 baht a day of, and 15% of drinks + happy hour almost all day!. The staff at the kids club were very friendly and kind to my little sister. Especially Ribbon. They helped me learn many Thai words!
I booked a Pool Level Room for a 10-night stay approximately one month in advance. At the time of booking, there was no mention of any renovation work taking place at the hotel.
A week after booking, the hotel emailed me requesting the names of all guests and asking me to reconfirm the reservation. I promptly provided the information. Once again, there was no mention whatsoever of ongoing renovations or disruption to guest facilities.
The first indication that anything might be wrong came while we were travelling from Koh Samui Airport to the hotel, when my daughter happened to read a recent TripAdvisor review mentioning renovation work around the pool area.
Upon arrival, the experience did not improve. There was no welcome or assistance with luggage, reception was extremely busy, and we unloaded our own bags and waited to check in. During check-in I asked directly whether there was any renovation work taking place. The receptionist confirmed there was work being carried out near the pool but stated that it was only decking work and would not affect the pool itself.
When I asked why we had not been informed in advance, he said we should have been notified but was unsure why we had not. No apology was offered. When I explained that this was unacceptable, I was asked to wait for a manager.
The manager eventually informed me that the renovation project had overrun and that there was construction noise around the pool throughout the day, including electric saws and other building work. When I again asked why I had not been informed before travelling, his response was, “I think we did, maybe you missed it, but I believe you when you say you didn’t receive it.”
This response was disappointing. Whether a notification had been sent should have been easy for the hotel to verify. More importantly, the issue was not whether I was being “believed”; it was that I had arrived for a 10-night holiday only to discover significant disruption that had never been communicated to me beforehand.
Had I been informed in advance, I would have had the opportunity to cancel or book alternative accommodation at a reasonable price. Instead, I discovered the situation after arriving on the island, leaving me with limited options and forcing me to secure alternative accommodation at a substantially higher rate.
When I explained this, the manager’s response was essentially, “What do you want me to do?” The only solution offered was credit in the Melia loyalty programme, which was of no practical value given that the holiday had already been disrupted and I needed somewhere else to stay immediately.
In the end, I chose not to stay and booked accommodation elsewhere. The contrast in service was remarkable. Upon arrival at the alternative hotel, we were greeted at the car, assisted immediately, and made to feel welcome from the outset—the level of service I would normally expect from a five-star property in Thailand.
The most disappointing aspect of this experience was not the renovation work itself. Hotels sometimes need to carry out maintenance and upgrades. The real issue was the complete failure to communicate the disruption in advance and the apparent lack of concern when the problem was raised.
Future guests should be aware that if ongoing renovation work is likely to affect their stay, they may not necessarily be informed before arrival. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.
