A great stay but terrible dining experience.
Pros:

Lovely hotel. Our second time staying here in the last year. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking. Great location. Bar was lovely. Spacious foyer area. Rooms spacious. Swimming pool and facilities were great for relaxing.

Cons:

I booked a table for dinner at 8pm. Had to give card details which was not a problem however the staff member seemed to take a while processing details. She also asked if we were celebrating anything to which I replied we were. Unsure why this was asked.

On arrival to the restaurant we were informed that there would be a delay of one hour when ordering food due to the restaurant being extremely busy. We were disappointed with this as we were not told this on booking. We asked if this included starters and it did but the staff member double checked and came back to us to say she could get our starters out quickly if we ordered straight away. Starters came out and they were lovely, no issues.

Myself and my wife ordered Steak for mains, both to be cooked well done. 45 minutes later, one arrived medium rare and the other arrived extremely well done - so much so that there was no taste from it. The pepper sauce was even burnt! Both steaks were very fatty. Chips were over cooked. We complained and showed the restaurant manager what we were left with and she told us she would not charge us for them. The manager was a lovely woman and very apologetic.

We don’t like to complain but unfortunately this experience was terrible. We dined here last year and had a completely different experience where the food was top class but unfortunately on this occasion it was not.

We are due to stay here again later in the summer, and we will as the hotel is lovely but will have to make alternative arrangements for dinner elsewhere.

A wonderful mother & daughter experience ❤️
Pros:

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was fabulous and the staff genuinely went above & beyond for myself & my 10 year old daughter. A special mention to Cian in reception who brought our cases to our room for us, he was the most pleasant and helpful young man. Always smiling. The reception staff even left a birthday gift, a birthday card and beautiful cake in our bedroom for us both to enjoy. We had complimentary delicious hot chocolates delivered to our room before we went to bed. Breakfast was lovely & hot and waiting staff were helpful. A lovely yound red haired lady served us bar food and when she spotted my daughter wasn't eating her pasta, she instantly offered her something else. This young lady was very attentive and pleasant. Another special mention must go to the spa manager. A lady called Crina. We were so stressed when we arrived as we had gotten delayed in traffic and we were slightly late. She instantly put us at ease and told us not to worry, as did the two lovely therapists. Couldn't praise the spa staff enough. We were waited on hand and foot and were honestly made to feel like queens for the day! Ronan was also lovely, welcoming & helpful. He gave us money off vouchers for our next spa visit! We visited the open pet farm before leaving, which was so much fun. The highlight however has to be as we were leaving to head home, the beautiful Crina spotted us and came over to say goodbye and to wish us well then she brought my daughter into the restaurant and let her choose a pastry of her liking to bring for the journey home & she insisted on paying for this herself. Honestly, who does this!! We left on an absolute high and we can't wait to return! We also had a lovely chat with a lady manager as we were checking out who took her time to speak to us and to ensure we were happy with everything. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but she told me she has a daughter the same age as I do. Thanks again, we'll be back!
