One bedside lamp was broken. No towels left in room.
I am a bit of a luditte so found QR codes a tad above my skill level. No reflection on premises
The matress was firm and the water was hot. The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom (apart from some mold on the seals of the shower).
Having to pay for parking.
the ibis hotel is overrun by junkies all night and they make sure you don't feel comfortable...the rooms don't get cleaned they only give you fresh towels and leave the dirty towels on the floor..I had clothes stolen medication taken..blood on towels. drugs sprinkled along the back behind my bed and on the floor in front of the front door...who knows what else they done. they seem to have a swipe card to my room .which the staff would have assisted with by using the computer to activate the swipe cards which doesn't feel any good after paying $600 for 4 days and I get treated like this second rate citizen .makes me wonder if the cameras are working at all ..
getting treated like i have no rights to security and privacy .i have a mental illness and my medication was stolen from the boxes so I had nothing left to take..after paying alot of money for the room to begin with and i spent alot of money over a few weeks of staying here.
Location. Good access to every thing we wanted.
Breakfast was poor for example eggs were cold and rubbery. No cereal provided as an option.
Really friendly staff.
Comfy beds
I really couldnt fault it only 1 night stay
Staff were very helpful.
Initial impression was that the hallways could do with a makeover. However my room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, linen very fresh and welcoming. The small bathroom was well maintained and clean.
I stayed for 11 nights and had booked because of the Ibis reputation for good, basic rooms and comfortable beds.
I was not disappointed.
The hotel is just 10 mins walk from the light rail stop and 15 mins from Newcastle Interchange. The buses run through Hunter St or nearby so the Ibis is in an easy location for public transport.
Not much to like
A lot of bugs, no upkeep to the room. Most things area damaged. Pillows are horrible.
Not a nice experience.
Great location to Coles groceries, and other eateries, a decent walk to the beach but at least the road is flat. They have onsite parking.
It could do with a bit of a refresh, the carpets had some weird stains in my room.
