Clean facility, very nice staff as well. The pool was clean and all other amenities were great. The breakfast was good and offered a nice selection.
When booking my reservation on Booking.com I was not prompted or informed that parking was valet only with a nightly cost of $65.00. Bringing my total per night stay over $200. I would have booked a different hotel had this been clearly stated.
The views from the rooms are nice, not exactly jaw‑dropping, but pleasant enough. You’re a short walk from the lake — which is really a river, but Austin insists on calling it a lake — and the location makes it easy to get around downtown. The rooftop pool is tiny, the kind of small where if a dozen people got in, it would turn into a human‑powered hot tub. Add in the summer heat roasting the roof deck and you start to understand what a lobster must feel like when it’s getting steamed. If you’re on the street‑facing side on a weekend, you get the bonus entertainment of watching the Waymo fleet navigate the chaos below.
Check‑in, though, was rough. This was a business trip with reservations made months in advance, yet two of the four rooms weren’t ready. We were told they’d be available in ten minutes. Then another ten. Then another ten. After five rounds of “just ten more minutes,” the rooms finally materialized — but only after asking a different employee who had just arrived. She immediately found a couple of ready rooms, while the original employee seemed fixated on two specific rooms and never bothered to check if anything else was available. His attempt at hospitality was offering free coffee… in the late afternoon… from the mezzanine… where the coffee had clearly been sitting since morning. Also, the heat index was over 100 degrees. Old, stale coffee in that weather? Seriously.
The location is solid, the views are fine, and the rooftop is fun in theory, but the check‑in experience left a lot to be desired. Once you’re past that hurdle, the stay is serviceable — just don’t expect the pool to cool you down or the coffee to revive you.
