Property within walking distance of Canterbury and free parking a bonus , rooms nice & clean & spacious , friendly staff , had dinner one night it was fine , didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment , nice bar

Bar nice and renovated to a nice standard but no atmosphere, needs to have better signage outside , past by it twice couldn’t see its name , but apart from that , was a nice stay

Pros:

Great location, walking distance to main attractions

Cons:

Lift didn’t work, we travelled with two suitcases and multiple backpacks (a family) and it was very hard to bring everything to the 3rd floor (which is really 4th floor outside of the UK). There was one dirty towel in the room. Hotel is very run down.

The location was great. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathroom was great. The bar area was very nice having been newly refurbished and was very classy and felt high end. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Cons:

It was still mid renovation so had an odd feel to it. The rooms really need air con, it was way too hot and humid. The car park needed a clean as there was a muddy drain right by the entrance that I slipped on and nearly fell. The floorboards were very creaky and a lof of noise came from the room above. The beds were spectacularly uncomfortable and the pillows rock hard with no spare pillows. The windows open fully wide over a flat roof so it felt quite insecure leaving them open overnight, adding to the heat. The food being served in the bar was pretty average given the price of it and I had to send mine back as it was still cold in the middle which was disappointing.

Pros:

Hôtel très bien placé, calme. J’étais inquiète par rapport au bruit des travaux de rénovation mais nous n’avons rien entendu. La chambre n’était pas rénovée mais elle était parfaite et très propre. C’est un style rétro anglais plein de charme. Le petit déjeuner est très bien. Ils prennent soin de réapprovisionner le « chaud » au fur et à mesure. C’est qualitatif et bon. Le personnel est absolument charmant et même notre chien a été très bien accueilli.

It was a pleasent stay in a beautiful location

A Handy Place to Stay if you're Spending Time at St Lawrence Cricket Ground.
Pros:

The staff members that we interacted with at reception, breakfast and in the bar were a credit to the place and were really enthusiastic and friendly.

Cons:

Having paid a relatively high price for a 2-night stay, I did have high expectations of both the accommodation and the breakfast and sadly it was a bit of a let-down. The room was clean and comfy in an old fashioned sort of way but nothing special while breakfast was disappointing especially having seen the photos on the hotel listing on this site but it was eatable so did the job.

Prima hotel voor een bezoek aan Cambridge, op 10 minuten loopafstand van de stad. Er is een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Op de kamer is een Europees stopcontact aanwezig.

Cons:

Het hotel werd gerenoveerd, daar hebben we geen ongemak van gehad, maar hierdoor hebben we de gezamenlijke ruimtes niet in de oorspronkelijke staat gezien. Onze kamer was netjes maar vrij standaard.

Alles hat gepasst. Sehr ruhiges Zimmer im 3.Stock(Aufzug vorhanden), geräumig, sauber, bequeme Betten. Gutes vielseitiges Frühstück. Sehr nettes Personal. Parkplatz direkt am Haus.
