Worth the stay
Pros:

This is my third stay at the Reserve but first since the renovation and I will most definitely be coming back to stay again. The service by itself is a reason to stay at this resort. The staff in the reserve make you feel like family and take fantastic care of you. I love this resort! If you go and stay at the reserve make sure you go see Julio at the bar, you won’t regret it.

Pros:

My three kids (13, 13, & 10) and I attended the art workshop at Paradisus this morning. Giovani was such a great teacher. So patient and fun. Made the kids feel at ease and most importantly helped the kids to be successful! What a great experience.

Definitely book this for your family holiday.
Pros:

We have had such a fabulous holiday. We've been able to experience a different A la carte restaurant every evening . The service and food is exceptional, Atilano at Blue Agave, Rommel (our Butler), Cinthia at the Reserve pool have all gone above and beyond, such great service. I'm delighted I booked Paradisus for our family holiday, I highly recommend it

Pros:

The hotel is good, safe, and well-spaced from other hotels, but there are too many restrictions regarding food (the buffet is a 5 out of 10), and everything closes too early.

The restaurant reservation system is very outdated; they claim restaurants are fully booked when they aren't—you can walk by at night and see plenty of empty tables.

On the day of the Mexico soccer match, the buffet closed before 8:30 PM. The pool bars close daily before the scheduled 7:00 PM time (sometimes between 5:30 and 6:00 PM), and there are too many restrictions on activities—such as the DJ being barred from playing certain types of music in the pool area (nothing unusual or offensive, just music that isn't boring, or Latin music, which is censored).

They have a system of "advisors" who greet you at check-in and try to steer you toward a sales presentation for Meliá vacation plans; these plans are poor, and the staff can be quite irritable—even offensive—when you tell them you aren't interested in buying the packages.

Many rooms lack storage space (drawers), so you have to keep everything inside your suitcases.

The best parts of the hotel are the coffee shop and the Italian restaurant.

Family friendly vacation
Pros:

Had the best experience here with my family which includes my two toddler girls. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Overall family friendly but also a nice balance of adult only. Joshua helped make the experience even more seamless as he scheduled all our reservations for dinners, cabanas, etc.

Paradisus Cancún really feels like paradise!
Pros:

We spent 11 days at Paradisus Cancun, and it was exceptional. Our concierge was Estephany, and she was the best we’ve ever had. She was always available to help with our requests and reservations. On top of that, she arranged a lovely surprise to help us celebrate our anniversary.

Our go to for everything we needed to enjoy our time at the beach and the pool was Horacio. He provided personalized service to us throughout our trip, and arranged our requests to be covered even on his days off. He delivered a custom message to us on our last day (pictured).

Tania and Rodrigo provided wonderful service of food and drinks to us every day, which of course, added to our enjoyment and relaxation.

Victor and Giovanny were also key to our enjoyment of the outdoor amenities.

10 Stars for Concierge Alejandro Aleman
Pros:

If I could give Alejandro more than 5 stars, I would!
After arriving at the Cancun airport, I realized in a panic that I left my diamond ring in the room. I contacted Alejandro, and he immediately sprang into action. He personally retrieved it from lost and found and hired a trusted taxi to rush it to the airport before our flight left.
This goes way beyond customer service. His honesty and speed saved a priceless possession. Alejandro Aleman is the absolute best.

Thank you!

All the little things that can make or break a stay
Pros:

The review will only reflect our experience having stayed in the Adults Only Reserve area- Master suite Oceanfront, Pyramid 5 and hotel-wise we never ventured past the Pyramid 3(middle lobby) so I cannot comment on family side of the property. We were looked after by Alejandro our Concierge & Rommel, who were both very attentive- from daily updates, all our dinner reservations & last minute requests, providing information on where we can go about booking activities (parasailing etc) he even went above and beyond with making the initial inquiry on estimated cost & even walking us there, pre-organizing the sunset Cruise on Nichupté, & booking the included spa visit/hydrotherapy. For the folks worried about cabanas, not all of them have a $charge, just the ones that you have to take stairs for, directly facing the water- & we were able to secure one daily & pre-book day before (you just need to plop a personal item between 9am-11am to show you will use it & you can keep it the whole day if desired)- they are set up with towels by the very meticulous Michele( he remembers our room number and preferred location- with good shade and view of ocean) & also Victor. Service was mostly outstanding as expected at Paradisus- sadly with the exception of the first dinner at Agua Marina where it took unnecessarily long time to be acknowledged or seated despite us having reservations (no one was manning the hostess desk but there was multiple staff there) - and the restaurant was nearly empty. Waiting for our server to come & provide water & take drinks/order took a while- which is really the reason I've rated 4/5. I think it was a communication issue from hostess to server. Once a server did arrive at our table, things moved extremely swiftly & he looked after us very well, even when the restaurant got busy- quick to refill drinks and ong the seafood was exceptional (the catch of the day: whole fried snapper was yum) - he even set up a birthday surprise for mom- thank you, Jonathan- he basically saved that experience that went from disappointed to very happy by his attentiveness & speed! I would also like to acknowledge some staff that really made the dining experiences so good- from proactively checking on us & giving recommendations, stellar but speedy service & ensuring we always had tequila/drinks: Alfredo (dinner at Blue Agave, cannot find their new dinner menu online yet, maybe that's why not a lot of folks there at dinner, but i believe the beef i had was short rib- tender & phenomenal), Manuel (lunch at Agave, i loved the Birria soup), Jesus at Capella (one of our favorite experiences even though it's good but not the most exciting food), Daniel at Kao (we popped in for just desert and drinks and yet he managed to make it fun by again proactively recommending specific shots based on my "usual" order so i could try a different brand of mezcal), and the darling of a man, Emanuelle at Sal steakhouse (loved the brisket and clam chowder) - in true Paradisus form, it's the wonderful staff, very good food, & great drinks that are the stars- that combined with the resort cleanliness, scent, and renovated design/property vibe at the Reserve which was quiet, well-attended to, relaxed- exactly what we needed. There's activities/shows within a short walk to main lobby or main pool areas if you seek it. For the staff at Sante & Reserve lounge(they work at both): we particularly enjoyed the service from Cynthia (proactively checking if i want anything even when I'm in the pool she times it very well with a drink a 1/3 full 😀 and continuously brings me my choice of tequila no need to ask- anticipatory 5star service right there), & we also enjoyed wonderful service there from Javier, Yamil, Gemma, Luis, & Valeria. Location of the property was super convenient, with many options of activities at Aquaworld short walk right across the street, from speedboat jungle tours, jetskis, skyrider, etc. Just tip the bellman to golfcart you to the hotel gate to avoid the stairs. There was sargassum during our time, on the beach but there's still folks that find it swimmable certain times of day, when it is mostly on the beach (and not the water)- it was not as awful as what I'd see in nearby/other areas of hotel zone online, & they definitely run the tractors dailly to upkeep (not completely clear but it is june). Other comments if it matters: Designated smoking area for the Reserve section has a tiny bit more shade in the morning luckily(not a lot just vines that are starting to grow) than the one near pyramid 3(main pool) which gets full sun/zero shade- but the one by the main pool has seats w/ cushions- i spoke to someone and apparently they are very strict on no smoking on the actual beach. The master suite layout for the second bathroom was rather odd, looked like they intended to put a small tub but changed their mind for unknown reason. The balcony for the Master suite was huge, but also like there's a bit of wasted space, maybe could use an outdoor tub? We didn't get to enjoy much of the nightly entertainment since it conflicted with some of our dinner reservations, which again if no reservations were required- could have been avoided. They also may consider doing it in more of a theater/or use one of their conference rooms rather than a stage that sits by the pool with the audience seated across from the pool. It would alleviate some of the noise issues for people in main building perhaps(not an issue for our room). And i have to mention- although seeing it as trend now for some hotels and also this brand, likely to save on cooling costs- your room thermostat is set so that is does not go below 20degrees Celsius, it does have a tendency to feel too warm at night.

Awesome Resort
Pros:

We went on a family vacation with young kiddos.

The service was great (shout out to Sergio and Fernanda). The resort just went through a major renovation so everything looked relatively well managed. As usual with Mexico, you’ll notice the areas that see little light of day are not well cared for. But overall the resort is very nice

Not all restaurants are the same quality. Capella is great and the best for family. I thought the others were mediocre and zesty was not good at all.

Buffet is hit and miss. Some days are good, others not great.

Definitely go for the ice cream, it’s really good. Go for the Fero to hero ice cream, it’s really good.

Now for the minuses-

Juice bar was great but for some ungodly reason, the workers there thought it was a good idea to add water to juice and to sweeten it, add sugar. Once I saw that, I stopped drinking juice.

The kids swimming pool area has some slides but only for kids. Parents aren’t allowed to go up the stairs.

So if they tighten up their buffet/juice bar. Add more slides or atleast allow adults to enjoy the slides with the kids, I would give it a 5 star rating

GREAT VACATION
Pros:

We had an absolute amazing time with family and friends a week ago. We checked in on a Sunday and checked out on Saturday. The food was amazing the entire time and the staff was incredible. From the buffet staff to the cooks, to the swim up bar etc. Everyone was kind and considerate. Would like to single out Natalya our concierge for our trip. She was fantastic and made everything smooth. From booking reservations (last minute changes on our end) to answering every question we had. She made the experience to have little to no stress. We will be back!!
