A real gem! A lovely rural setting complete with a red telephone box lit up at night! The staff were great, freindly and very helpful. The atmosphere was a mixture of village hub and relaxed boutique inn, perfect. It had obviously been subject to a major refurbishment and was extremely well done. The food was outstanding - much better than expected. Our room was perfect for an overnight stay, again fully refurbished. It is also exceptionally good value, we are looking forward to our next visit.

Breakfast was lovely, tasted really good. Room was clean and the bed was fine, just a little small. Parking was definitely a plus as well, staff was friendly. Overall good value for money!
Room was smaller than expected, looks more spacious on the photos. No AC in the room and it was pretty warm although it wasn’t really warm outside.
Great location as we were travelling to visit relatives and stopped at the Devonshire Inn for one night to break up journey. it’s close to the M1 but in scenic location. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent with an extensive choice. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was clean and modern. We had booked bed and breakfast. Can’t fault anything.

Beautiful room (Richard of Loxley), has air con and very clean. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal in the Stag restaurant was outstanding - it’s very popular so suggest booking in advance. Overall a wonderful stay.
The mattress was a bit too firm for me.
It was in a peaceful rural location. The decor was modern but it was also in keeping with an old building. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful. The food at the Stags restaurant for breakfast and dinner was first class. The guest room we stayed in was very comfortable.
Our only issue was that the hotel’s location caused us a problem on the Saturday morning when we went to Chatsworth House country fair. There was a lot of traffic and it took almost an hour to get there. However, this could not be attributed to the hotel.
The room "Robin of Loxley" was superb. Great food, fresh and a big range of choice. Staff were brilliant. Well done to all

Gorgeous building and lovely modern facilities, it was very hot in the room although had a fan.., we struggled to sleep.
It was very hot in our room, I did ask to upgrade to the two rooms with air con but they were fully booked.
