The location was close and within walking distance to everything we wanted to see.
The elevators took forever and one wasn’t even working. The breakfast was ok - same selection both days and seemed like very high traffic for a small selection of food.
Not all elevators reach the basement where is the breakfast area. Once you get into one of those elevators, you need to walk down stairs.However, there is not any sign nearby showing the direction. There is one close to the reception but not the lifts.
The room had a bad smell and the bedding stunk.. The customer service was very rude. For what I paid for the room was not worth the price

AC temp is not enough to cool the body. I change the temp but still not enough for me. The shower is so hot eventhough it is adjusted.

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn St. Louis Downtown at the Gateway Arch, and the stay definitely exceeded expectations. After reading mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, I was unsure of what to expect, but the warm welcome we received upon arriving around 10 PM immediately put us at ease. We were given water and snacks along with an overview of the amenities and the parking. Throughout our stay, the staff greeted us with genuine smiles, provided helpful information, and continued to offer great recommendations for activities and restaurants.
The hotel is in a great location where you can easily access downtown as well as the interstate to escape to some of the outlying areas. The room was clean and the view of the Gateway Arch was amazing. We had a corner room on the 16th floor and the only noise was the occasional horn/siren from the interstate. As others have stated, the wait for the an elevator can be pretty intense, especially during peak hours (breakfast, check-in/out, and after the Cardinals game). It wasn’t a deal breaker for us as we have seen much worse. Just make sure you have everything you need before going up to your room. While there is no microwave in the room, there is one in the lobby that worked just fine to heat up those leftovers (I prefer this option because 2 AM fire alarms for burnt popcorn are no fun).
