Pros:

First off, this picture is deceptive. The hotel has been pretty much demolished for renovation since Oct25. The right tower is gone and a giant mud pit is there. Our room overlooked the pit. The building resembles a place in a war-torn city.
PLUS SIDE: staff very helpful, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The airport shuttle ran every half hour in both directions (less than a 10-minute ride to/from airport making tourist traveling into Amsterdam by train very easy.)
NEGATIVES: cheap flimsy doors with no additional locks inside. No place to store clothes and only a minimal triangular shelf for stuff. The bed - where to start. A pillow top covered with a thin sheet and no top sheet. Lifting the sheet I could see all the nubs that I felt along with stained cover and mattress. Only 2 pillows on a king size bed for both of us. Bathroom was clean but only 2 small bars of hand soap and 2 small tubes of shower gel. My pet leave though was no wash clothes provided.
Overall, I feel the owners are being dishonest about representation of the hotel online. Price was just ok - there are similarly priced hotels nearby and would encourage you to look around. This place should close until renovations are finished.

Perfecte lokatie

Cons:

Ik heb mijn boeking volledig vooraf betaald. Bij aankomst moest ik echter dezelfde creditcard fysiek tonen waarmee de betaling was gedaan. Omdat hierover vooraf geen duidelijke informatie was verstrekt en dit niet gebruikelijk is, had ik deze niet bij me. Daardoor moest ik de verblijfskosten opnieuw betalen om te kunnen inchecken. Het eerder betaalde bedrag is later teruggestort, maar dit heeft voor onnodige stress en ongemak gezorgd en was geen prettige start van onze vakantie.

Daarnaast vertrekt de eerste shuttlebus naar Schiphol pas om 06:00. In de veelgestelde vragen zag ik meerdere vragen over shuttlemogelijkheden voor vroege vluchten (bijvoorbeeld om 04:00 of 05:00). Het antwoord was telkens dat dit geregeld kon worden als dit bij het inchecken werd aangegeven.

Helaas bleek deze informatie niet correct. Er werd geen oplossing aangeboden, behalve een taxi die wij zelf moesten betalen. Ik vind het teleurstellend dat zowel de voorwaarden rondom de creditcard als de informatie over de shuttlebus vooraf niet duidelijk en correct zijn gecommuniceerd, wat heeft geleid tot extra kosten en onnodig ongemak.

The bathroom had a distinct sewage smell that made it hard to use. The water cups appeared to have been used previously. The internet was very slow. We had expected better from Best Western.

Hopeless coffeemachine in the room, construction nextdoor, sent emails outside booking.com, confusing payment process (pre-authorisation, both booking.com and hotel asked for payments in advance and at the hotel), no atmosphere in the "bar"

Pros:

Booked 2 nights, missed the flight and had to cancel 1 night, the staff was really good and understanding and charged me 1 night…shuttle bus timetable was fantastic…restaurant and a McDonald’s in front of the hotel served jet lagers appetite!
