The hotel is beautiful and they treated me exceptionally well…this is a gorgeous hotel! Perfect location!
Pros:

This property is a former palace and is beautiful! It has all the history of a Matera cave house but the modern amenities that compromise a very nice hotel. My room was spacious and spotless. They had a wide array of gluten free breakfast items - gluten free bread, cereals, brownies - and they had almond milk as I cannot have dairy. Best of all - the staff could not have been any nicer. They are from Matera and have some amazing stories about their families living in the Sassi. You can tell how much pride they take in their jobs and the passion they have for Matera. They also genuinely love people and it shines through in their service. I also had back surgery in November, so moving luggage isn’t the easiest. They have an elevator on the property if you need it and they assisted with transporting my baggage from my taxi upon arrival to the hotel, and to my taxi upon departure. Anything you need and they will take care of you. I would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful view and the perfect location. You’re within walking distance of all the churches, restaurants and shops. Giovanna and Marco at the front desk were so wonderful!

Wunderschöne Ruheoase mitten in der autofreien Altstadt, perfekter Ausgangsort für Matera zu Fuß.

Fabulous hotel with much to offer
Pros:

Perfect location in Matera with a wonderful view of caves, canyon and church. Clean spacious room, friendly accommodating staff and a surprise rooftop restaurant with great food and a beautiful place to watch the sun set.

Cons:

Would like other visitors to know they MUST book a parking space ahead of time if you have a car. It's not a problem but you must do ahead of time.

Pros:

Our first reaction was…WOW!!! The hotel is grand and the decor is top notch. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The location is conveniently close to Piazza Duomo. The view is spectacular from our room. The staff is professional and very pleasant and friendly. They were able to provide us with necessary information. The breakfast choices are endless and everything is so fresh. Highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work!!

It was all beautiful, my only note would be the junior suite is more of a large double room with big bathroom/ spa bath.

For older patrons - the steps. One must be mindful, yet we were super pleased that to get to our room we only had to navigate a few steps.

We loved this peaceful, luxurious stay and would return
Pros:

We loved our stay. The staff is amazing! We were taken care of well by Giuseppe, Lorenzo and Ibrahim! We loved the breakfast, best view from the rooftop terrace in town and the little quiet spaces to read outside of our room. The location is ideal for a calm, restful few days and the rooms are extremely well designed and beautiful. Thank you!

Cons:

Would be amazing if there was a pool or small spa to add to the experience but this may not be possible in the space.

Luxe stay in Matera old town
Pros:

This hotel had a very luxurious feel and the staff and service were amazing. The location was great right in Matera old town and the rooms was very spacious with super comfy beds and very clean. I will totally recommend it.
