Very central near train station, walking distance to where we wanted to be, clean and very friendly staff.
Just been picky but breakfast could be cheaper,£16 was a bit steep I thought.
Great location, clean and comfortable room. Scott was very welcoming and gave me some tips on places to visit.
I was working remotely in the hotel, it was hot, being mid summer, the cleaner knocked on the door and offered me a fan, I thought this was over and beyond, given the corporate style of the hotel. The room was not too stuffy, but the fan was a welcome addition, Also, the breakfast was fantastic,.I stay in a lot of hotels, and this beat the offerings of Hilton and best Western.
The restaurant menu was quite limited, and pricey.
Lighting in room.could of been better, maybe with a lamp?
the car park was an additional £15 a day, reduced to £12.50 by notifying the reception of your registration..
The car park spaces are narrow, and it was tight to navigate around the multistorey - I felt the car wasn't safe, likely to get dinged by other cars,
Parking outside the front clearly states £100 fixed penalty, which meant lugging my stuff up and down 5 flights of stairs from the car park.
Location
Joining rooms .sleepless night .noise from joining room chatting all night slamming doors / smokers in and out room for cig break
Staff were attentive and friendly.
No air con
Very central location
Staff were so friendly and helpful
Room was very warm,a fan would have been great.
O hotel está próximo do centro da cidade. O quarto é grande e espaçoso e muito confortável. Recomendo.
This is a very nice hotel within a 10-minute walk of Newcastle Central Station.
Its location is a bit unusual in a sort of business/residential enclave, but it is not too bad.
So: overall, a very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful, particularly with providing local knowledge, such as where to find a nearby phone repair shop when my screen died.
The reception area is wide, cool (which it needed to be when I visited, given the outside temperature 🌡) and has quite excellent couches and tables distributed around it.
There is a large restaurant and quite a spacious bar on the ground floor offering a pretty good range of reasonably-priced (for a hotel) range of food and drink options.
My room was very clean and comfortable, and the usual facilities were there and more (telephone in the room? A lot of chain hotels don't have that these days.)
One intriguing thing was a TV screen on the wall as you exited the lifts on my floor (1st).
While the pictures were live, the subtitles were frozen for my whole st 😉
The lighting system was confusing 😕.
It had the usual combination of switches on the wall and by the bed, but pressing combinations seemed to have random results, which sometimes caused me confusion.
Also: the shower temperature was a bit random and barely exceeded lukewarm.
As a visiting Mackem said to me said as we chatted outside one evening, there are 3 requirements of any hotel:
1. A clean room
2. A comfortable bed.
3. A shower that works
I would add "better lighting" to that, but maybe I'm just being picky 😉
comfortable bed,staff polite and friendly.
hot breakfast was just warm not hot .
no bedside cabinets in room
no towel rail near sink.
