Rude/indifferent reception and poor hotel upkeep smacks of lack of investment and profiteering. Ruined our stay.

Cons:

Young, abrupt staff. Unclean and some bad deteriorating paint in places, especially in the bathroom

Well worth a visit
Pros:

A beautiful hotel with a stylish atmosphere. The bar and restaurant have been beautifully restored and the staff are extremely friendly.

Lovely couple of days and we will stay longer next time
Pros:

The bed was large and very comfortable and it was very quiet. I also appreciated the decoration, fixtures and fittings especially the ensuite and cornices.

Cons:

Can’t think of anything but we didn’t have breakfast as it was a bit early by 9am when we are on holiday

Scalding hot water - may have something to do with excessively hot room despite no heating on and windows open
Double bed rather than queen or king
Shabby room
Breakfast overdone - burnt and dehydrated plus both orders were incorrect

Good staff, clean comfortable room if basic. Beautiful grounds.

Cons:

No spa.
All facilities were closed and no notification prior to arrival.
These facilities were the reason for booking here.

Disappointed with room
Pros:

The ball we went to was great, the people the band excellent

Cons:

£20 for breakfast, asked for an upgraded room and even though the hotel was practically empty on Sunday we stayed in a room with threadbare carpet, chipped furniture, dirty grout and scuffed walls, well overdue som decor
