Nice stay but hazardous shower flooding.
Pros:

The bed and room were comfortable, the breakfast was amazing. The staff were responsible and friendly. The cleaning service by request was a great idea to spare resources, but they did come when we requested it. It was close to my parents', which was the idea, and also close to the attractions around Madison.

Cons:

The worst part was the shower flooded no matter how hard we tried to keep it from overflowing into the bathroom. It was slippery and dangerous and nothing was done. The parking lot was crowded and not sure if it was secure.

Cons:

The room smelled like smelly feet. The fan on the wall unit didnt work. The fridge barely got cold even on high.
We also requested a room with a tub and the staff let us know that when we book through a 3rd party it cannot be guaranteed. So, we didn't get a room with a tub for personal care for our adult son.
We have stayed at the Inntowner many years in the past and have never had a room that smelled as if it hadn't been cleaned. Maybe the carpet needs cleaming.

If in town for a medical procedure, stay here: location, professionalism, compassion.
Pros:

I stayed at the Best Western Plus to undergo outpatient surgery at the UW Madison hospital. The staff were extraordinarily accommodating. Clearly they know many of their guests are there for medical purposes, and so they are not surprised by unusual requests, like extra wash cloths.

Cons:

If I had to quibble, I think they could do better with their coffee. It wasn't terrible. But a real solid cup would've put an exclamation point on the morning.

Pros:

Hotel staff were accomidating, free shuttle service was prompt, room was nice, beds were comfortable, shower was pretty with nice scented shampoos, conditioner and body soap, quality big screen TV with Netflix options, etc, the free breakfast in the restaurant area was nice and plentiful, and the pool and jacuzzi were relaxing and perfect temps.
