Mid with no lost and found communication

Very noisy but worst of all I had to rush to get on a plane after my flight was cancelled to catch an earlier flight and left my charging cable. I called and emailed them within 12 hours but no one bothered even responding.

I enjoyed my stay!!! The breakfast was excellent!!!
Pros:

The location of the property was in great proximity to the Stadium for the Commencement Ceremony! I loved my view of the tree lined street. Very nice!!!

Cons:

The couch was very dated. The toilet seat was not mounted very well so it kept moving.

Excellent stay
Pros:

We have stayed many times when in Madison for medical appointments at UW Health. The staff is especially friendly and considerate, the rooms are spotless and breakfast is fine. Parking is available and there is an onsite bar and restaurant which we enjoy. There is a separate lounge provided by UW Health which is an added plus.

I stay at this hotel frequently when I am in Madison and have always been very pleased with my stay with two very notable, serious exceptions. I'd like to think that perhaps those were flukes, so I will list the positives first, but the negatives my last two visits were pretty significant negatives!

Positivies:
The hotel is clean, reasonably priced, convenient, and has good amenities. It is in a very good location - about a mile from main UW campus, 2 miles from downtown Madison, but away from most of the traffic and congestion and has free and adequate parking as well as a free shuttle, which is very convenient. It has a fairly decent free breakfast, a business center, and a washer/dryer which I have had to make use of in an emergency that was helpful. The staff is generally helpful and friendly.

HOWEVER, twice in the past few months, while I have been in the room, housekeeping staff has entered the room with no warning! The first time, my son and I were sound asleep and I had forgotten to put the bolt on the door and at 7:00 a.m. a man entered the room, waking us up, saw us, and then immediately left. I jumped up and ran out of the room to chase him down. The hotel was undergoing some construction at the time and he said he thought our wing of the hotel was empty. I was alarmed and concerned and called down to the front desk and they apologized for the error and promised to speak with housekeeping. After further complaints on my part, I was offered a discounted stay, but this past week when I was there again on business and my teenage son was with me, on our last morning, at 9:30 after returning from breakfast, my son was in the shower and I was getting dressed for the day when suddenly, A MAN ENTERED OUR ROOM WITHOUT WARNING AGAIN! No knocking, no calling "housekeeping" - just unlocked and opened the door. He left immediately upon realizing the mistake and I threw on clothes and chased him down the hall. He didn't speak much English, so I pointed to the "Do not disturb" sign hung on the door and he apologized and communicated that he thought the room was vacant. Again, I called the front desk to complain and they promised to discuss the issue with the housekeeping staff.

Yes, from now I will keep the bolt on the door at all times, even when I am awake in the room, but I have never had this happen in all my years of staying in hotels, so to have it happen twice in a few months is concerning. It is a major violation of privacy and security, and quite frankly, even with the bolt engaged, if I were sleeping or dressing and heard the banging of someone trying to open the door against the bolt, it would still be alarming! Housekeeping ought to know to verify if the room is vacant, knock multiple times, wait an adequate amount of time to allow for people to wake up/respond, and identify themselves through the door before ever opening a door.

Excellent Place
Pros:

This hotel was very inviting after a hard day at the UW Hospital. Location is great front desk was very friendly and the restaurant had great service as well as food. Great variety. The room was clean & fresh. Bathroom was small with sink outside of the bathroom. Rest of the room was very spacious. The breakfast buffet was nice and got us off to a great start for a long trip home. Will definitely return
