I was only there for the one night, but will stay there again hopefully longer when I am near Ruthin
Pros:

For a one night stay, it was just right, Breakfast was excellent The staff were excellent and very helpful Bed was very comfortable.

The building and the history was fascinating

Cons:

I did not get the chance to try the gym etc, as my time was only short, so thats my fault.

The Bar was a little hard to find :-)

Precisa de reforma
Pros:

Ambiente histórico e agradável, com ar medieval. Ficamos um fim de semana e teve um casamento no sábado e outro no domingo. Apesar de não participar das festas, me senti num conto de fadas. A equipe toda muito solicita, simpática e educada.

Cons:

Penso que antigo é diferente de velho. O castelo precisa de manutenção por dentro e fora. As molduras das janelas, de madeira, estavam podres. As cortinas estavam soltas, o carpete manchado. O serviço de quarto não arrumou a cama, nem limpou o banheiro. O ar condicionado do quarto não estava funcionando. O café da manhã muito simples e sem variedades.

Great hotel
Pros:

Lovely location, good size room and bathroom. Had a bath.

Cons:

We only booked standard room, but the decor is obviously old and worn.

Pros:

Ruthin is a small town and has a isolated vibe which was cool. I went to a nearby bar with a pizza place just beside it. The people over there were very nice. I also saw peacocks and rabbits within the castle walls.

Cons:

Housekeeping was below expectation. Ancient plumbing.

Lovely castle setting, great location
Pros:

Really liked the history of the hotel. The grounds were lovely to walk round, takes you back on time

Cons:

The bathroom could do with some TLC. The staff at breakfast were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice we were waiting to get our table. The Breakfast was also quite disappointing as it seemed like very low quality products and hot food seemed like it had been sat for a long time despite us eating at 8.30am, a reasonable time for breakfast to be thriving.

The staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful week away for our honeymoon
Pros:

The castle was beautiful and in a stunning location

Cons:

The bathroom was cramped with little storage around the sink area. Could have done with a table to place toiletries

Pros:

Lovely location and it really could be a lovely hotel.

Cons:

It’s dirty and dated. The windows had mold and it smelt damp. The toilet flush was broken, bath was dirty and it was cold.

Relaxing stay in a old castle with all the quirks.
Pros:

Comfortable bed (best ive slept in for a long time) and we travel alot, close to shops, pubs, restaurant at the hotel was great plus bar, loved the old castle and history along side the rabbits and peacocks of the grounds, staff were very welcoming and service was very friendly, dog friendly place which was great as we had our dog with us, breakfast was great can go up for seconds if wanted, we ate at night in the restaurant food was lovely.

Cons:

The shower to the room didnt have much power to it, slight mould on the tiles round the bath but it is an old place, no hairdryer in the room ( did report to reception on leaving)! ! I could only find 1 bin for dog poop? Should be more located round for ease of disposal. Just minor issues which i have brought up so could possibly be improved for future guests staying!

We only stayed there for one night and enjoyed the unique experience.
Pros:

Breakfast – As expected, a full cooked English breakfast.

Beautiful historical setting, steps away from the town centre of Ruthin.

Cons:

Room – As this is a historic building, there is no lift, and squeaky floorboards are to be expected. The staff were very helpful and kindly carried both of our suitcases up to our room.

Our room was on the third floor, overlooking the roof terrace where the resident peacocks hang out. Unfortunately, the view immediately outside the window was not particularly pleasant, with rotting timber, peeling paint and bird droppings. That said, we did have a very close encounter with the peacocks through the windows, which was quite a unique experience.

Dinner – Overpriced for the quality. The lamb and steak were overcooked, and the fish was rather tasteless.
