We liked everything about our stay.
The room was clean with a modern en suite bathroom. Evening dining was very good with a good selection on the menu. Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of food. Ample parking spaces.
The bedroom needs a new mattress as the springs were worn out.
The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt 'welcomed'. Our room was large and although the ensuite was a little small due to the limitations of adding such to a Grade 2 listed building, it was adequate for purpose. Breakfasts were excellant. Plenty of parking.
The TV was not 'smart' and we were unable to access our favourite programs/channels. The ensuite is becoming tired and could do with some work. One of our bedroom windows had a broken pane and the sash windows were not easy to open.
A truly perfect place to stay. All the staff, and the owners were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. We had a delicious and generous carvery, and a delicious and generous breakfast! If I could give it 11/10 I would. Comfy beds, everything well organised, excellent facilities. Fabulous value

Liked everything breakfast could have been better
Nice size room, beer garden and lots of parking. Breakfast was also good.
Fairly dated building, but I guess is part of the ‘historic’ look. Rooms are fairly dated too, but nothing wrong with them.
Shower was broken but the staff came to fix this when asked.
Could just use a bit of a renovation to help attract more people.

The room was clean but really old fashioned (I had presumed that would be the case based on the property age), shower wasn’t great. Breakfast was very disappointing and not what I was expecting based on other good reviews….avocado was on basic sliced white bread toast with 2 overdone/hard poached eggs. Sausages overdone, poor choice of cereals, no pastries
We had a 2 night stop over lovely place idea if u have children we had the grandkids 3 and 10 yr old they loved the garden and little stream at the bottom of the beautiful garden, morris and belly dancers performed thete on the Thur night was very entertaining, food was great from breakfast to evening meal, very friendly and welcoming owners,and their team woulld def recomend

Beautiful property with fascinating history located by a river with a brilliant kids play area at the back. Staff were wonderful, accommodation clean and comfortable, and food was amazing.
Located about a 15 minute walk from the beach - not far at all, just a little further than ideal with a toddler who refuses to use a pram!
