There’s no other place to try in Grand Cayman. Food, beach, people
My husband and I had such a magical experience at this resort last year that we decided to return for a second time. Our sophomore experience was unfortunately negative in a number of ways, so much so that I’m not sure we’ll return. Here were the faults:
Didn’t acknowledge our anniversary in any way and had sent prior communication that this was a trip for an anniversary.
There was a group of obnoxious influencers who acted like they owned the place during the week we were there.
The special little touches from the first trip were gone: hand massage in the lounge upon check-in, someone offering us champagne upon check-in, someone telling us that our room was ready, a lovely selection of summer reads in the lounge, someone showing us to our room.
The octopus at Tillie’s was over cooked.
The dress code at Bar Bambi was not communicated prior to arrival and my husband didn’t pack the right attire.
The bed was horribly uncomfortable and the sheets are like sand paper.
The complimentary spa party said that body scrubs were included but all that it consisted of was body scrub that you could apply yourself.
The gym closes at 7pm which didn’t work out for our schedule.
The bugs were very aggressive this year.
No free swag this year.
Positive Aspects:
The quality of food served at the beach is top tier. We loved the Piri Piri shrimp bowl and the Cob Salad.
The complimentary happy hour was still great!
The spa treatments were still amazing!
The turn down staff and daily room cleaning staff really go above and beyond.
This is a boutique resort that prides itself on personalized experience but since we aren’t influencers we felt invisible at times.
We just wrapped up a magical Fourth of July stay at Palm Heights Grand Cayman with our family, and it was truly exceptional from start to finish.
The property delivers luxury in the best possible way: elegant, relaxed, thoughtful, and never overdone. The service was outstanding, with every detail handled perfectly and every interaction feeling warm, personal, and effortless. Our room was massive, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable for a family stay.
The dining was incredible throughout the trip, with each meal feeling special. The fitness center is easily the best I have experienced in the Caribbean, and the spa was absolutely magical—a true highlight of the stay.
Palm Heights is one of those rare places where every detail feels intentional. It was the perfect setting for a memorable family holiday, and we cannot wait to return.
Gorgeous property. Food was excellent at all of the restaurants and cafes. We had heard great things about Tillies (which was justified) but we also loved the Coconut Club, Paradise Pizza and Dolores. What really makes this place though is the staff, nothing was too much trouble for anyone but real standouts were Luce on reception and Hassan at the CC who after just a week felt more like friends.
The quiet lounges (with the amazing Tillies cookies) were a lovely place to cool down and chill out.
We'll definitely be back!
Nothing
Sherifa at the Garden Club Spa was absolutely amazing! She was so nice and kind! It was the best experience we have ever had at a spa.
My family has recently returned from a stay at Palm Heights for our fifth visit at that property. The hotel is beautiful, clean and has fantastic amenities. However the key to Palm Heights being such an amazing place to stay is the staff. Every time we have been there, the Palm Heights team has been friendly and incredibly helpful.
On this trip we were celebrating a family member’s accomplishment. The desk group worked with me extensively before our trip to arrange meal reservations, spa treatments and a surprise to be in our room upon arrival. Throughout our stay we worked with Luz, who was incredibly helpful and professional in making our trip everything that it could be.
Additionally, we have come to know some of the team that works so hard on the beach delivering the luxury of eating sushi from our beach chairs. Victor, Shary and Hassan took great care of the family and allowed for a truly relaxing vacation.
We highly recommend Tilly’s, especially on the Burgers and Bubbles night. The food is great and there is nothing better watching the sun set in Cayman while having dinner. The restaurant also has a humidor so we had the opportunity to have cigars on the beach after dinner. Our waiter, Francesco, was a fantastic guide through our meals.
My wife and daughter took one day to spend at the spa and loved the experience. My wife would recommend the masseuse Santochi, who provided one of the best massages she has ever had.
You will love the property, the amenities and the beach but it is the staff that keeps us returning. We highly recommend this property.
Came here with my wife and had an amazing stay. Everyone was so friendly and really took the time to make sure our experience was top notch. Food was great , beach was great. Room was great. Hotel is gorgeous and very cozy. Not overcrowded just like we like it. Highly recommend
Palm Heights is a unique boutique resort on beautiful 7 Mile Beach. While the beach area is cramped the beach attendants went out of their way to make everyone comfortable by providing towels, water and beach equipment, and were very attentive with the young children. We had five meals at Tillies and the food quality was excellent as was the service. Coconut Club was a disappointment. My husband and I ate there for lunch one day and my meal took so long that my husband had finished his food 10 minutes before mine arrived. The wait staff and service on the beach from Coconut Club was inconsistent. They were either very present or not to be found. I had ordered a virgin Pina Colada and was given one with Seven Fathoms 80 proof rum and had to go correct the mistake myself.
The real issues that we had dealt with the front desk staff both at check in and check out. Upon arrival we were taken to a private reception area and given refreshments and asked for our form of payment. We presented our American Express Platinum card and were told that with that particular AX card we would be entitled to complimentary breakfast each day, $100.00 resort credit per day and a 4pm check out the day of departure. We had a conversation with the receptionist about the fact that we couldn't use the 4pm check out because our flight departs at 1:35, but that we would be having breakfast there each day, and that I had a massage scheduled. She indicated that I could use the credit towards the massage. I have booked with American Express travel previously and thought that these perks were only available if you booked directly with them so I was surprised that she said we were entitled to them because we were using that card to pay for our stay. When we checked out this morning the credits were not on the folio. When we asked about it the front desk clerk said she needed approval from her manager. She further explained that those perks only apply if booking with American Express travel which I explained I understood but that the receptionist at check in made a point of saying we would be getting them. The manager was summoned and said she "spoke with my whole staff and no one said that" we were entitled to discounts with American Express and implied that the conversation never took place. We were rather stunned that she would gaslight us in such a rude manner. She could have said the receptionist made a mistake but to outright lie is another thing. Her attitude was cold and dismissive. She did offer to refund our breakfast but we were so disgusted by the deceit that we declined. We just wanted to get out of there.
Upon leaving the hotel we waited 15 minutes for a taxi and when we got in the driver exclaimed that it was good that we were on time. We were rather confused as we had been waiting for her. Come to find out we were put into someone else's taxi which had been scheduled for 15 minutes later. Her comment was "he always screws up" when speaking about the bellman. I guess that might be the common theme for some of the staff of the hotel.
3rd time here - great hotel. On pricier side but definitely a unique experience on the island. Very personalized and well curated, staff all around very friendly and accommodating.
The new gym and wellness center just opened and that’s a great touch as well with a mix of indoor and outdoor fitness.
Special shout out to Lucia among the many others that were all around great!
I really don't want to share how great Palm Heights is on every single level. The ambiance, service, food, rooms, facilities, restaurants, beach, beach chairs, pools, gym (the best) and location are all the best of the best. You can order breakfast, lunch and sushi all to your beach chair every day. All of their restaurants (Tillie's, Italian, sushi and beach club) are all the best on the island. The gym and spa are better than any I have experienced at top hotels around the world. My wife and I loved the beach and pools. There is a hot tub outside in the hotel grounds that is as big as some hotel pools. The spa pool is also very nice and they have a sauna, steam room, cold plunge, Turkish bath, magnesium pool and so much more in their spa and outdoor gym area. The coffee shop also has the best coffee, cookies and danishes, We will be going back to Palm Heights much sooner than anticipated. There is no reason to leave Palm Heights if you go to Cayman and enjoy 5-star traveling experiences.
We love Grand Cayman. This was our first visit, and it left a lasting impression. The island is beautiful, welcoming, and feels incredibly safe. The culture is rich with history, and the people make you feel genuinely at home. We will absolutely be back.
The Hotel
Palm Heights is stunning—exactly as presented. The atmosphere is calm, refined, and thoughtfully balanced between relaxation and activity. Its location on Seven Mile Beach is simply unmatched.
Accommodations
We stayed in an ocean-facing terrace suite, and it was exceptional. The layout is seamless, the interiors are elegant and intentional, and the terrace is a true extension of the living space. The bedding is luxurious with great pillow options, and the bathroom design is both beautiful and functional (every detail—from lighting to water flow—was done right). The suite is filled with thoughtful touches that elevate the entire experience.
Food
A wonderful mix of healthy, flavorful, and well-executed options across multiple dining venues. Everything felt fresh, customizable, and consistently enjoyable.
Customer Service
Truly premium. Every request was handled promptly, graciously, and with care. The level of attentiveness made everything feel effortless and personalized.
Staff
Warm, polished, and genuinely friendly. The team creates an environment that feels both elevated and comfortable—exactly what you want in a five-star experience.
Overall Value
Palm Heights is a premium experience, and for me, it is absolutely worth it. The property, the suite, the food, the people, and especially the location all exceeded expectations. This is a place you return to—and we will.
My sister and I booked a couples massage for a special trip at the spa in the Palm Heights Hotel. Seriously the most amazing experience ever had at a spa. Absolutely stunning decor and the staff was amazing!! Santosi was my masseuse and she did an incredible and outstanding job. Best massage I’ve ever had in my life! If you go, you must ask for her! Ericka was the host who checked us in and she was a darling young girl, with a vibrant personality and smile.
My husband and I just returned from our fifth stay at Palm Heights, and somehow it continues to exceed every expectation. What keeps us coming back isn’t just how beautiful or thoughtfully designed everything is, it’s the people.
There’s a level of warmth and care here that’s incredibly rare. Victor, Hossan, Justin, Neil, Manuel, and G (who truly has a way of lighting up every room he’s in) each make the experience feel personal and special in their own way.
But Maria is the heart of it all for us. She takes care of us like family, always anticipating what we need before we even ask. There’s a genuine kindness and thoughtfulness in everything she does, and it’s a big part of why Palm Heights feels less like a hotel and more like a home away from home.
Over time, this place has become something really meaningful to us - a space to unwind, reset, and feel taken care of in the best possible way.
We had the most incredible week at Palm Heights in Grand Cayman. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like they really valued us as guests. The food is some of the best we’ve ever had in the Carribean (especially Tillie’s) and the spa is THE best we’ve ever visited- try the full Hammam- it was absolutely wonderful. A special shout out to Manuel, who went above and beyond to make sure the stay was perfect. We will be back!!
Not sure I've felt compelled to write a hotel review before but I wanted to share this for other families (or anyone) considering Palm Heights, or the Cayman Islands in general.
Palm Heights is a family-friendly resort hidden inside a trendy, slick, luxury hotel. We've visited a few times with our baby, then toddler, and it's been exceptional. The facilities are exemplary: Cool, chic, comfortable, and placed beautifully on the beach. Food options are the real draw — three/four concepts that each time we've come have been really stand out. The food is all well executed, elevated, but relatively simple and built around great ingredients. Finally the staff is why we keep coming back. They are so so so good with kids, with grown-ups, just great and friendly and kind.
Anyways, it's a place I've recommended to friends since we first came and now a few years later I wanted to write it up here too!
My family and I just completed one of our best trips ever. Palm Heights lives up to any review or TikTok from its location on 7 mile beach, the amazing service, unique design, and delicious food and beverage. Whether you are relaxing in a lounge chair by the ocean or enjoying happy hour at the Coconut Club, you will not be disappointed. The food at all of the restaurants is wonderful, and the specialty drinks in the speakeasy are so fun…if you can find it. There are so many people who contributed to this wonderful experience, but I want to give a special thank you to Caroline, our concierge. She helped us with all the traditional items like reservations and activities, but she also went above and beyond when we needed things like aloe or a swim shirt. We were sad to leave but will definitely return. Cheers!
Just about perfect. Many hotels in the Caribbean purport to be 5 star, few are, but Palm Heights is truly a 5 star property. We were there over the March break, two adults, a grandparent and 4 year old. We had a two beroom beachfront deluxe suite, 1,000 sq ft.
Palm Heights, at 52 rooms, is just the right size, big enough to have all the staff and amenities, but small enough to be warm, welcoming and learn your name.
The staff are the heart of the hotel, and witout exception were warm, friendly, helpful and efficient. They anticipated needs, and no ask was too much. When the 4 year old asked at Tillies for something not on the menu, they happily obliged.
The property is beautifully landscaped, replete with truly specimen palms.
Lovely beach, and great service there. Broad and interesting menu at Tillies, the main restuaurant, ith some real imagination and interesting local touches.
Property is impeccably maintained, and this extends to the rooms, there was not a chip, gouge or scratch anywhere.Everything was as it should be. Excellent housekeeping.
We loved it,and will be back.
Just two observations that were a little off: At the beach there is a speaker broacasting a high volume, repeating 3 note bass thump, on endless repeat . It was heard everywhere, and you can't get away from it .It would be bad enough if at least it were music, but it was just this relentless thudding bass. completely out of character for the resort. What's wrong with the swish of the surf on the beach and the rustle of the palm fronds in the wind ?
Knowing that we needed a car from the airport with a car seat for the 4 year old, we were advised that there was no certainty of that with a taxi, and so had the hotel arrange a car service. It is 5.3 km from the airport to the hotel, a 10 minute drive. We were surprised to find that the charge for the car was USD 220 each way. ( $ 41.50 per km seems a bit ambitious ).
Palm Heights was all we expected, and more, perfect for a three generation family with lots for everyone. We have been all over Canada, the US, UK , Europe and the Caribben, and this was ahnds down one of the best.
Palm Heights was the perfectly curated experience. Everything was fantastic from check in to check out to daily cocktail hour. Staff were friendly, and very responsive to any requests. The beach staff was wonderful and quick to set up chairs, but I feel like beach waitstaff could have been a little more present. The greenery on property is beautiful, as is every piece of decor. The location is a perfect distance to the airport, shopping, and other resorts. The room was spotless, taken well care of daily and spacious. The shower could have had a smidge better pressure, but this was insignificant compared to the entire experience. The garden club, and spa area felt like an entirely different amazing experience!! We felt so welcomed and taken care of with staff remembering names and our dietary restrictions. I would return to the palm heights over any other resort on the island, and go back to grand cayman just for a stay there.
On our second trip to Grand Cayman, we stayed at La Concha x Palm Heights and it was truly amazing. Maria Catarino and the entire Palm Heights team are incredible. From breakfast on the beach at Tillie’s to pizza-making class at Paradise Pizza, everything was perfect. The food is wonderful (including the in-house bakery), the accommodations are luxurious and comfortable, and the service is next-level. We are already planning our next trip.
