Not modern but well maintained and comfortable
Breakfast is ea
It's my go to hotel for breaking up the journey up to Scotland. In fact I'm writing this from the hotel.
It was very clean and staff where very helpful
The room we where in had slopping roofs that we where not informed off. We had a few banged heads
Staff are amazing, always cheery and helpful. Hotel is nicely done, beds comfy and breakfast is awesome. Have stayed before and would stay again
The restaurant, the cleanliness, the lounge.
The heat in the room, the transparent curtains, the difficulty filling the kettle.
Surclassement à l'arrivée. Chambre confortable bien qu'un peu kitsch. Très bon petit déjeuner. Très bon accueil, pro!
Chambre un peu vieillote
Beautiful hotel. The suite we had was stunning with so many complementary gifts. We had dinner at the Cumbria in the evening. The food and service was outstanding freshly cooked.
We will definitely be going there again.
Maybe a road noise at night but it is on a main road.
Staff, nice rooms, excellent breakfast buffet
Water pressure in showers is quite low
Petit déjeuner très bon, copieux et variés. Chambre classique.
Hôtel avec du charme.
Restaurant (indien, fish and chips) et pub à proximité. Accessible à pied depuis le centre ville et le Hadrian Wall Path
rien à signaler
Easy to find, good parking, lovely staff. Comfortable bed and decent shower. Good range of food for breakfast. Fan available.
Windows didn’t open very far so room a bit stuffy.
Arrived in the private car park..plenty of spaces for my SUV. Entered my reg when checking in all included in the room rate. Excellent start.
Checkin was fine, booked a twin room including breakfast. Great value.
Asked if I could book a table for dinner. Over to the bar and booked a table for 6pm easy.
Room was on first floor so no need for lifts. Small twin on the roadside. But absolutely fine for only 1 night. Two cans of complimentary water (still) in the fridge and T&C facilities with biscuits. Tv was dated and limited channels. But wasn't too bothered as I don't tend to watch other than for background noise.
Bathroom had bath/shower.
Restaurant meal was good. Reasonable choice at reasonable prices. I had soup of the day & sea bass with pots/veg. V nice both courses and large portions. Couldn't manage desert.
Breakfast was excellent loads of choice hot & cold items. Scrambled/poached eggs cooked to order. All help yourself. Even had fresh strawberries and yoghurt. Pancakes with loads of pastries. Tables had jams & sauces in small individual pots which I really like.
Close to the Carlisle Castle and grounds which runs along the river bank. Past the gardens still full of flowers and a few tennis courts. Great little walk after dinner. Overall exceptional value for money!!
Toilet was dirty from presumably the previous guests. Under the seat needs checking by housekeeping. No toilet brush either which I really don't like. Shower was ok. Pressure not great but sometimes can't be helped. Complimentary shower gel/shampoo etc. Plenty of toilet roll which is nice to see.
