We needed a hotel for one night only on arrival in Vancouver and we chose this because it was close to the airport and had a free shuttle. We had been sent instructions a week earlier on where to find the shuttle, which we were told was shared with Hampton Hotel, and had "Hampton Hotel" written on it. However when we found the shuttle, the driver said that the Abercorn Hotel now had its own shuttle service and that we should ring them to despatch it, pointing to a free telephone nearby with all hotels listed in a speed dial. There was no answer at first but got through when trying again after a few minutes. The hotel duly sent out the shuttle which arrived after 10 minutes. In the end, it worked well, but we didn’t need all the aggravation and uncertainty after a 10 hour flight from Heathrow, arriving at the UK equivalent time of 3:00am.
Apart from this aggravation, hotel served its purpose. There didn’t appear to be anything else nearby in terms of restaurants or entertainment, but we didn’t need anything for the one night before our onward journey. The hotel décor was dark and musty, and in need of a refresh. Breakfast was typical of many American hotels. The included breakfast was continental, with various breads, muffins and fruit loaf fruit and yoghurts. However, I dislike the use of cardboard plates and plastic cutlery, which seems to have become common in many American hotels, with no apparent attempt to recycle.
Staff was good
Property was weird rooms are small not worth it as price
Lage
Freundliches Personal.
Eiskaltes Zimmer, überall schlechter Geruch, alles sehr alt und renovationsbedürftig. Kein platz im Zimmer. Alles düster und heruntergekommen. Kurze Frühstückszeiten.
The property is right by the airport and they offer a shuttle. The rooms are large and clean (surprising as the rest of the hotel is not). The hotel is close to buses to get to central Richmond or Vancouver. Breakfast was ok.
First experience- possibly a manager who couldn’t log on and wouldn’t check us in 3 mins early. Next staff member arrives right at 3PM, very nonchalant and uncaring. The lobby was filthy, the toilets as well. The first lift is incredibly slow but the next one on the right is ok. Asked a staff member if we could book the shuttle, was told very rudely that we couldn’t book more than 24 hours in advance. Same staff was again rude and being smart to a family with a young child about the lift. Breakfast is cheap and basic but it’s something. No alternative milks.
Very expensive hotel for what it is but ok for Vancouver.
Airprot transportation was on time. We left too early to get breakfast. No option for take and go was offered.
room was large and roomy, on the older side but clean.
Locatie aan een drukke weg. Bij ontbijt weinig keuze
In het bed lagen haren. De douchekop was erg lastig in gebreuk. De geur in de gangen van het hotel was onaangenaam.
Close to the airport, comfortable beds, met my expectations for a place close to the airport where we could catch up on some sleep, friendly staff
Dated, all the throw away plastic at breakfast
Free airport shuttle, great Japanese restaurant on site.
Very rundown property. The room smelt bad and there was mould in the bathroom. The air-conditioner was very noisy and impacted on my sleep. I had booked for the beginning and end of my travel due to location to airport, but I cancelled my second stay.
Traveling with small kids gave us good experience staying here. Very helpful staffs. Parking was easy and right in front of the entrance. Location is excellent, right next to Costco. Right next to a few good restaurants, We love the Japanese restaurant.
Excellent
Nothing
Overall was clean and bright. room was very good and bed comfortable. Aircon not too noisy. Airport shuttle was easy to book and quick.

Breakfast
The room was spacious and clean. Basic amenities, but everything was accounted for.
Breakfast
The Room's floor looks very dark and dirty.
The pillows and duvet covers seem to have never been changed; they smell terrible.
The Receptionist man is not very kind and not patient.
Too much noise from upstairs. The sound insulation is very poor.
Not much selections, less protein. The ladies getting the tickets for breakfast pass were in the way to get your breakfast (cleaning while people were in line trying to get their breakfast), the carpet is not clean thus not conducive to eat or enjoy your breakfast.
They have a laundry room but no way to have your money change so can’t wash clothes. Maybe - have a coin changer or better yet - install something to pay via QR code. It’s a moot point of having a laundry room for customers when you can’t use them. The staff by the front desk is no help! When you ask for coin changer they don’t look for change rather will tell you “No change”, you ask for plastic bag - they don’t look for one but rather say “No” right away. Not helpful, not accommodating! The cleanliness of the hotel specially the carpet is concerning. The lady cleaning the room is very accommodating giving us fresh towels and toilet papers since we did not have our room cleaned the days (5days) we stayed.
Near to airport.
Airport shuttle did not always run according to schedule. Messages to property from the airport via Booking.com went unanswered.
Convenient for a night stopover as near airport
That all the breakfast cutlery, etc, were disposable - very wasteful and prefer proper cutlery and crockery. Makes it feel very cheap.
