It was all good - lovely staff, very charming & helpful.Room was good. Bed comfy.
The one thing that just ruined my one night stay was that during a recent heatwave-there wasno air-con in the room. Instead, a free-standing fan, which in soaring humid temperatures, was virtually uselessin such a smart, city hotel like The Bristol,
for £104 i had reason to believe all the rooms would have air-con. This was a big disappointment a it prevented me from sleeping.

Having air conditioning was an unexpected and welcome bonus on an exceptionally hot UK weekend. The hotel location is central by the water with many interesting Bristol locations in walking distance. The room was a good size although the bathroom a little snug. All was clean and the common areas like restaurant and bar are very good. Staff very friendly and responsive.
room incredibly hot despite temperatures overnight of 18. Only 2 of the 4 windows opened-2 of our 3 fans were ineffective.
Hotel in great location on the river with onsite undercover parking (which does cost extra).
Pleasant staff on arrival, when good staff addressed our issue with the room size they did so efficiently and conscientiously.
Serious design issues which are not the fault of those running it. The hotel room designers should be made to stay in the rooms they designed.... large bed and solid desk in a small room doesn't work easily. Nowhere to open a case. Bathrooms also 'compact'.
Disappointed when checking out to have a dinner charged to our room which we had not had....this may have been due to room change issues. However that particular staff member perhaps should not be on front desk.
This is our 3rd time starying at the Bristol, it's a well presented hotel in a fab location. They do an excellent breakfast.
Sadly on this occasion there were several issues. We stayed during a heatwave, our room had no aircon but we were advised there was a fan in the room. The fan was not particularly effective. We were forced to open the windows due to the stifling heat in the room, but our room was overlooking a busy street which was very noisy, this continued throughout the night into the morning, unfortunately due to this my partner was kept awake all night.
The extractor fan was broken in the bathroom, so the bathroom was like a hotbox.
The headboard was loose, so every time either of us moved in the bed it rattled. The room was a lot smaller than any of the rooms we had stayed in before too, so want a great deal of room to move about.
On this occasion our room was £128 for 1 night plus an extra £30 to have breakfast, which on this occasion I don't think was good value at all.

Location was perfect and overall look of the lobby, bar and dining area were good.
I was disappointed with the bathroom as the shower over the bath and the grout was dirty. The pillows were also very soft and did not offer any support. Curtains were also not attached properly to the rail so looks really untidy and I expected more for the price.
Comfortable room, was given an upgrade. Lovely staff, great location for the beacon where I went for a concert . Discounted parking at the multi storey next door
