Lovely hotel
Pros:

No air conditioning in twin room. We had one broken, noisy fan and one that was useless!

Cons:

No air con in the rooms, I’ve never had to request an air con room before, they claimed the hotel was sold out but then moved us to a smaller queen sized room with an old air con unit which was loud and didn’t work that well either. Check-in staff told us breakfast was until 11:30 the next morning, we arrived just before 11:00 to be told it was closing at 11. Breakfast was fine but not 4 star level, it was basic. Staff were nice and the guy at reception in the morning kindly wavered our car park fee, but it should be much clearer when booking if there is no air con in rooms, I’ve not experienced it before. The hotel is a little tired too, we wouldn’t stay here again.

Excellent location and amenities but for me the room fell a little short
Pros:

I liked the location of the hotel, so close to local attractions, close to the university and plenty of walks and cafes close by.
The staff were excellent, as was the restaurant. We ate there twice and the food was extremely good.

Cons:

The bed was rather too large for the space and getting to my side of the bed -closest to the window- just wasn’t easy. I managed it but it was a nuisance.

Also, during the night there was a constant noise that when it stopped, about 40 seconds later would noisily fire up again.

A nice hotel by the harbour
Pros:

Very friendly staff, nice location by the harbour and i think i had the best nights sleep on that bed in a while

Cons:

The breakfast is definitely not worth £18 no way, but fresh made juices were 10/10 for sure

We’ve been a few times experiencing very poor service for breakfast and really long queues .. but live the hotel it hasn’t out is off

Pros:

The location and parking are great, TV in the room good quality, the entrance is lovely. One of the workers arrived at the room with a dog bed and bowl and extra water this was a beautiful touch and made our dog feel very welcome and that service I believe would be above and beyond.

Cons:

The room didn't match the reception.
Foe the room we didn't have a fridge, mould and leak in the shower, the sink was full of water and the plug was stuck closed, no air con ( understandable ) I feel the reception could've been more welcoming we booked at 11am and arrived 5pm I messaged 5 times regarding and invoice and bringing a dog , no reply that's okay but when I arrived I was told I should've told them in advance about the dog and was trying to say they didn't have a room , I shown them the unanswered messages and the fact we booked with a dog as an option. Then had the cheek to mention it again when we checked out, its just rude and not necessarily when we have done what was needed to given them the heads up.
