Red Roof Inn PLUS+ St. Augustine

The rooms are old, dirty, and outdated. The pillows were small and uncomfortable, the linens had stains. There were stains and splatters all over different surfaces including the walls, ceilings, and toilet, as well as rust in various places. The room had an old musty smell. The furniture surfaces were worn and peeling, the paint was chipping, the water pressure was AWFUL. You could barely get enough to rinse off the soap, and the tub did not drain while showering so you were standing in your own dirty water. Got ready to go for a swim..'pool is out of order" I was told. Guess online instructions need updated! I was not happy. "What time is breakfast I ask"... 'We don't serve breakfast anymore." Seriously? Struggled to get the door open each time as the door sensors are permanently confused. This place was barely inhabitable. They call this ''Red Roof PLUS+'....Plus what exactly? "Four walls and a marginally comfortable bed?" If that was the honest tagline for the establishment, that would be the most accurate. This place needs one of those reality shows where they come remodel..or just hire a demolition crew and start over to be fair.

Pool was not open when we asked at front desk we were told they didn't know when it would open for the season. The only ice machine is on the 2nd floor, I am not able to climb stairs

This property has become so run down that multiple calls to the police were made due to homeless activity and safety concerns for my family. Many of those staying there were living there. They drank and smoked outside their rooms and would shout and cuss with my children around. The pool has been shut down by the city for a year. The ice machines never worked. The rooms were full of bugs. The staff were rude and disrespectful. We had to ask multiple times for toilet paper or to have our room serviced. The whole room was disgusting. We feared for our safety. This hotel is NOTHING like it is promoted as on booking.com. Our doors were rusted and wouldn’t latch most of the time. They would run out of rags several times a day. This is not a hotel. It’s a ran down extended stay and homeless hub.

Pool was closed

I got 4 small towels for 4 adults which you could not cover your body and come out the bathroom. 2 shampoos for 2 days and half . Ac wasn’t working. Pool was closed all the time. Toilet not very clean and 1 and half toilet paper for 4 people.

We are requesting a full refund because the accommodation provided was not habitable for our family.

The first room had a strong marijuana odor. After we reported the issue, we were moved to a second room, which was extremely dirty and contained cockroaches. We documented the condition of the room with photographs and video.

We did not stay at the property and did not spend a single night there. We left immediately after inspecting the rooms because the conditions were unacceptable.

We hope this matter can be resolved amicably with a full refund. Otherwise, we will continue the dispute through Booking.com and, if necessary, through our card issuer, providing all photos, videos, and documentation of the conditions we encountered.
