We'd like to inform you that between November 10, 2025 through August, 2026, we will be undergoing our rooms and corridor renovations. This work is part of our commitment to enhancing our service, guest experience, and the beauty of the hotel.
RENOVATIONS HOURS ARE:
Monday through Saturday, 8AM - 5PM.
There will be periodic noise during work hours, and you will see and hear some of our renovations occurring.
All hotel facilities and amenities will remain fully open and operational during these times.
We wholeheartedly apologize for any disturbances that you may see or hear but we are hopeful it will only be for brief periods of time during your stay with us.

An absolute standout of a hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond, remaining warm and accommodating throughout our entire stay. Our ground-floor room with a balcony overlooking the pool was top-tier—immaculate, surprisingly spacious, and fully loaded with all the bathroom amenities, coffee, a microwave, a fridge and a massive smart TV unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a hotel room.
The pool area looked gorgeous and impeccably clean, even though we didn't get a chance to take a dip. Right by it is a handy snack lounge equipped with vending machines, complimentary coffee and hot chocolate, and a big screen for casual viewing. Self-parking is a breeze with plenty of spaces up front, in the back, and even some covered spots in the basement for $20 a night.
As for the location, it completely blew my expectations out of the water—just a pleasant 10-minute walk to La Jolla Cove surrounded by great restaurants, with a supermarket a mere two-and-a-half blocks away, cementing just how central and convenient it is. Freshly remodeled, exceptionally cozy, and I will definitely be booking my return trip here very soon!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The appearance of the property was very well maintained.
The casual atmosphere and relaxing environment was very inviting.

Great location, private balconies, remodeled rooms, courteous, responsive and helpful staff. Ample parking in front and in the back of the hotel. But the staff is what makes Inn by the Sea stand out - they are truly exceptional.
There was plenty of parking and the rate nightly was very reasonable. The location is one of the best for that area. It is small and quaint and the staff are so nice and accommodating. This is my second time staying there and plan on going back and will only stay there. The hotel is newly renovated and even better than before.

员工很友好，我们因为飞机被取消，晚到了一天，客服帮我们取消了第一晚的费用。 第二天早上我门就到了，一位还不能入住，但是前台很热情的帮我们办理了入住，所以我们不用带着我们的行李去海边玩。
地理位置非常好，如果只是海滨度假，完全不需要开车。距离Seaworld也不远。
泳池是温水的，即使晚上去也不会觉得冷。
唯一有一点小问题发生在停车的时候。酒店正门旁边有一个地下停车场，没有任何大的标识，我们以为那是属于酒店的停车场，所以我们停了一个晚上，直到我们发现酒店的停车场在酒店的后门。虽然没有收到罚单，但还是希望酒店的工作人员可以提醒旅客不要停错地方。
The room was nicer than the pictures showed, I was pleasantly surprised! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was also kind and helpful.
The AC unit was old and noisy. Although the hotel had an apology notice that they were waiting for parts to arrive to finish their renovation work, so that may be fixed soon. (I stayed in Sep 2026). It worked though, kept the room nice is cold.

Love to stay at Inn by the Sea when I am in La Jolla. Never disappointed. Very comfortable room, accommodations are excellent, staff very welcoming.

Lovely Inn with easy walking distance to the coast, restaurants and shopping. Our room was newly renovated on the 2nd floor (upgraded from 1st floor). Our room with a balcony, was very nice, with the biggest TV I have ever seen in a hotel. There were a few items that were missing or hadn’t been completed such as lights/plugs alongside the bed — there was a letter to the guests in the room explaining missing items. The lobby area was very nice and comfortable with coffee/tea served in the morning.
I would stay here agin.
One night we were kept awake in the middle of the night by a large group of people returning to the hotel who were loudly talking outside. Room issues were there wasn’t an exhaust fan in the room with the shower, light switches are placed in awkward places. Missing lights and plugs near the bed (I realize the room wasn’t 100% complete)
