We're looking forward to welcoming you to Inn by the Sea Hotel in beautiful La Jolla, CA.

We'd like to inform you that between November 10, 2025 through August, 2026, we will be undergoing our rooms and corridor renovations. This work is part of our commitment to enhancing our service, guest experience, and the beauty of the hotel.

RENOVATIONS HOURS ARE:
Monday through Saturday, 8AM - 5PM.
There will be periodic noise during work hours, and you will see and hear some of our renovations occurring.
All hotel facilities and amenities will remain fully open and operational during these times.

We wholeheartedly apologize for any disturbances that you may see or hear but we are hopeful it will only be for brief periods of time during your stay with us.

100% would stay here again!
Pros:

Staff were very helpful, parking was easy and the location was an easy walk to the shops, ocean and restaurants. Appreacited the tea available too.

Cons:

There was no gym or relationship with another gym. No rooms with a bath either

OK but Not worth the money- a better motel
Pros:

The hotel is situated on a relatively quiet street not too far from the sea. The beds are very comfortable. The girl att check-out was nice, and handled my comments on her question ”did you enjoy your stay” professionally.

Cons:

Basically this is a nicer motel. Not with the price at all. The service in the reception was not what you would expect. 3-4 people behind the counter but not very friendly. There is a constant noise in the room, probably from the elevators, even though my room was pretty far away from the actual elevator. Shampoo etc in the shower is very basic. No additional amenities in the bathroom, no water bottle in the room at arrival, no daily cleaning (I asked for it but never happened). All in all - not bad at all, but absolutely not value in relation to the price you pay. The information paper you get at arrival needs a separate mention: It looks like something you got in school from an angry teacher. See Photo. I will save to show my own marketing department as an example of what not to do when communicating with customers.

Great, renovated hotel in a fantastic location. Comfortable public spaces, including a pool and guest lounge.
Pros:

Great location, renovated spaces, comfortable bed.

Cons:

While pricey, it’s a better value than a lot of the properties in the area. And the location makes it worth the cost.

Great staff and location.

Cons:

It’s La Jolla, so it’s expensive. Parking is $20 with 12.5% lodging tax, so the weekends end up over $400 for a regular hotel.

Fantastic!
Pros:

The team! All of them!
They prepared a personalized birthday goodie bag for my son who was turning 6. He was so happy and surprised!
Also, anything we asked it was delivered so fast and in general the team was soooo sweet and so nice!!!
Also to mention, the rooms are very clean !

Clean, comfy and good location.
Pros:

The bed was super comfortable, and the room was spacious!
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool was perfect.

Cons:

Whilst trying to enjoy relaxing time by the pool, staff were walking back and forth A LOT and chatting.
While I understand staff have to get from A-B, respecting guests should still be a priority.
Other than that, all staff were wonderful and friendly, and reception staff were super helpful b
