We're looking forward to welcoming you to Inn by the Sea Hotel in beautiful La Jolla, CA.

We'd like to inform you that between November 10, 2025 through August, 2026, we will be undergoing our rooms and corridor renovations. This work is part of our commitment to enhancing our service, guest experience, and the beauty of the hotel.

RENOVATIONS HOURS ARE:
Monday through Saturday, 8AM - 5PM.
There will be periodic noise during work hours, and you will see and hear some of our renovations occurring.
All hotel facilities and amenities will remain fully open and operational during these times.

Super bien quand ce sera terminé, mais de gros travaux actuellement
Pros:

Les chambres refaites sont vraiment très belles, décoration soignée, les grands lits confortables, le petit balcon avec de belles chaises, la clim efficace sans être bruyante, la douche nickel - emplacement top

Cons:

Les travaux sont de vrai travaux, on est pas sur de la peinture ou de la déco. J’avoue je ne m’attendais pas à être réveillée au marteau piqueur, scie, et coups à 8h du matin alors que les ouvriers étaient entrain de refaire la chambre juste au dessus de la mienne … l’accueil propose des bouchons d’oreilles mais pour le prix payé je n’aurai pas dû choisir cet hôtel pour des vacances reposantes …

Pros:

Liked the location. And the staff was outstanding and the rooms were clean

Hated the renovations and noise and did not like that there was no restaurant. The pool was fine but they had no chairs or towels for the beach like other hotels in the same area

The Impressive Inn by the Sea
Pros:

We travelled as a family to California in July 2026, from Ireland, & this was our first time in the San Diego area.
La Jolla is a beautiful seaside location, & Inn by the Sea is a superb hotel to stay & explore the area. The hotel is incredibly good & has everything you need. There were refurbishment works ongoing while we were there, & this did not affect our stay.
The staff were very friendly & helpful (thank you Arianna!), giving guides to the local areas for restaurants & places to visit. The room was spacious, & the facilities were perfect for us. The pool is ideal, & the poolside guest area, which has a TV with facilities, including complimentary coffee, was superb.
La Jolla is magical, with so many lovely beaches within walking distance, quaint shops & plenty of options for dining. The Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego is beside the hotel, which is well worth a visit.
We were fortunate to visit Torrey Pines golf resort, which is amazing, playing the North Course.
Also a short drive from the hotel is the University of California, San Diego, where we went to see the Geisel Library, a stunning & unique building, well worth a viewing.
We hope to return to La Jolla, & highly recommend Inn by the Sea.

The best of our trip
Pros:

The hotel was clean and fresh, lots of amenities and close to places to eat and not too far from the beach

Cons:

It would have been nice if there were other snacks and food available that weren't in vending machines
