Very friendly, lovely hotel. Great breakfast. We had Sunday lunch which was lovely - the staff are really good. Location good for seeing Metallica at Cardiff - train station up the road & a bargain in comparison to other hotels.
Excerlent breakfast very good verity .lovely restaurant very clean.
All things were likeable.
All the meals I had there were nice. I opted for the bar menu in the evening. For breakfast I asked the kitchen to cook me some poached eggs which were lovely.
Dejligt hotel, super venligt perdonale, fantastisk morgenmad.
Good breakfast, friendly staff.
No aircon, needed updating, no shower cap in the bathroom. 3star max.
Good facilities and location.
Room was tired. No aircon so very hot for summer stay. No in room safe provided despite being listed as supplied.
Very spacious, value for money, lovely Spa facilities, nicely landscaped grounds, very pleasant staff, tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised.
The bedrooms and ensuite were nicely decorated and clean. Fans were provided. Only minor, was some way to provide air conditioning due to the heatwave, would be better. BUT we were ok with fans in 25 degrees. Only reason 9 rather than 10/10.
Welcomed by lovely reception staff who made us feel very welcome, helped with local area info. Breakfast was great and we used the pool and sun terrace, loved our 2 night stay.
Very hot during our stay so room air con would have been nice although there was a room fan!
Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room were nice, and the addition of a fan in the hot weather was appreciated. Spa was lovely and full breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Lots of parking as well. Lovely grounds and an ideal location to catch the train in to Cardiff from Newport (£13 in an Uber). Really good value for a double room with access to a gym, decent sized pool and sauna etc.
Room was a little dated. Bathroom tiles and behind the taps could do with either being scrubbed down or tiles replaced. Would have been good to have been pre-informed of the prom on Friday night, which made accessing the hotel more difficult than it should have been at around 18:30, as well as getting a parking space. Needs better advertising of bar opening hours and better signage in the spa area of where the steam room and sauna are, as well as how to operate the jacuzzi.
Comparative price to a central travelodge or premier inn, but much more for your money alongside character and friendly staff. A lot of people seem to comment that the property is dated, but I actually think it’s part of the charm. It felt like a high end golf club from the 1980/90s that was very well done back in the day and not everything needs replacing because it was done to a high standard.
It was all good
Although it feels like you step back into the 1990’s we lived the vibe. The facilities were excellent. The pool was lovely. Very nice restaurant and bar.
The bar area in the pool could do with a spruce and turned into a bar area to enjoy a drink by the poolside. It just looked so run down and it was a shame because everywhere else looked great.
Well located business park type hotel
Advertised "high speed" internet was slow
Location
No air on; severely restricted window opening; no World Cup football allowed in public areas
Everything!!
Nothing
It was a lovely place shame there was a prom organised for that evening. After. Very long drive of 5hrs and out all day, it took 25 mid. To tests and enter the hotel grounds the. Another 20 mins to find a space . Breakfast was awful and wasn’t able to have any as we left early. We were told we could have something t it ale away then told we could, then told we could.
The evening was busy and not we wanted to. I will be writing a complaint
Good location for why I was there. Great staff, very friendly and helpful.
Bedrooms need attention, mould in the bathroom. Just needs a little more TLC
