Pros:

It was a nice place to stay but not close to the beach or downtown. Expect to walk or catch the trolley.

Cons:

They expect you to keep the same towels and bedding for your whole stay. One bath towel for a week was a little excessive. We had to constantly ask for toilet paper as well.

Gute Lage, Zimmer ein Reinfall!
Pros:

Die Lage ist gut. In der Nähe der Metrolink Station San Clemente North, fußläufig zu den San Clemente Outlets, vor dem Hotel eine Busstation inkl. kostenloser San Clemente Trolley. Und das Meer ganz in der Nähe. Frühstück war ok, wurde vom Hotelpersonal zubereitet. Waffeln, Sandwiches, Avocado Toast, etc.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war eine Katastrophe. Im unrenovierten Teil. Ein dunkles Loch mit überall Teppich, auch beim Waschbecken wo man sich u.a. die Haare fönt. Wie unhygienisch. Am schlimmsten war der Geruch. In einer Ecke des Zimmers scheint irgendwer uriniert oder sich übetgeben zu haben. So hat es gerochen. Ich würde da nie wieder übernachten.

Decent but not great. Would only stayed here if the Holiday Inn Express was unavailable.
Pros:

Paid for the updated room so that was nice. Strongy dislike someone serving me my continental breakfast, that was greatly upsetting.

Cons:

Having someone serve my breakfast. I don’t want to talk to anyone in the morning and being forced to do that was ridiculous.

An average experience that could easily have been better if they had put us in the renovated side without ants
Pros:

The location was nice and the parking was easy and free

Cons:

There were two sides to the hotel. One had been recently renovated in one had not been renovated. We were on the side that wasn’t motivated and it needed to be. The front desk was manned by a very inexperienced person who could not figure out how to give us a key that would work more than one time so we had to go back and keep getting new keys. We would leave our room come back. Use the key then leave again in the same day come back and the key wouldn’t work. Also, we had an ant problem in our room.

Great bang for your buck - but would benefit from cleaning
Pros:

Amazing location. The pool was great, really clean and well-maintained! Quick check-in, express check-out available. Our room had a balcony, which was nice, but all the balconies have a courtyard view, which was not. Breakfast was great, a lot of options and also time-wise, and the only inconvenient thing about it was having to wait until the staff prepared your choice - sandwich, waffle, toast etc. We have stayed here multiple times over the years, and the property seems to be getting on in years and needs some maintenance. Parking is limited but free and convenient.

Cons:

The room was very dirty and dusty. The curtains, bedskirts, all bedding in general was dusty. You could smell it in the air as soon as you walked in, like an old, abandoned, dusty house. I couldn't walk barefoot or in socks, it would turn the soles of my feet black in literally seconds. The carpet needs a deep clean. The furniture was all banged up. The refillable shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower were empty. Mold in the shower. The staff decided to do some cleanup and maintenance in the middle of the night around 3-4 AM? Someone was moving the big trash bins and using the leaf blower. It was very loud! Then they were doing some painting, I think, which made the entire property stink of paint fumes for the entire day. They seem to be focusing a lot on their courtyard and the mural, and less so on the interiors of the rooms.

Great location near the beach... attentive staff... good value.
Pros:

Excellent location close to the beach and the wedding venue we were attending. Comfortable bed and linens. Attentive and helpful front desk staff. Lovely service during the complimentary breakfast. A very quaint and peaceful hotel.

Cons:

The rooms need some TLC, as they appear worn and outdated. This detracted from our otherwise enjoyable stay.

The staff upgraded my room after finding the original room substandard. This room was very nice but normally goes for $250 per night. Staff was very acomadating, breakfast was great 4 the price I payed.

Cons:

Carpet in the hallways needed cleaning badly. It was not just dirty , but stains everywhere. It appears as though they are refurbushing it little by little but in the meantime the cheaper rooms are substandard.

Even though we visite SAN CLÉMENTE 3 times a year,not sure we will stay at this hotel again.
Pros:

The location is the most beautiful part of this journey: 2 minutes driving to beautiful beach, 1 minute to Moulin Café, best BF and lunches and 7 minutes to the San CLÉMENTE Pier and town.

Cons:

Unfortunately the all property needs a complete overhaul. Pool and jacuzzi very dirty, hair, papers, leaves……in the pool. We couldn’t use them. We found a cockroach in the bathroom. Common areas looked neglected and dirty.

Close to what I needed

Cons:

Very run down and not clean. Bathroom mirror not cleaned. Tub rusty horrible. Old furniture. The remote was sticky and the tissue I wrapped around it stuck on it. The grounds were run down . Pool not inviting. Toilet overflowing. Asked to move but told all the rooms are the same but later found out some are renovated. Very disappointing.
