Location value hot pools
Nos gustó todo, desde el departamento hasta el desayuno y la atención del personal.
Older and more interesting history than modern hotels.
Nothing
Lovely historic building in walking distance of lake and nightlife.
Only a small parking space at rear.
Character
The Prince's Gate Hotel is super conveniently located, across the road from the Howard Morrison Centre, next to the Government gardens, and with easy walk to town.
The hotel was built in another time, but well-maintained. The atmosphere inside is other worldly, with furnishings (while clearly recently made) like something out of the 1910s. The chandeliers are impressive; even the telephones hearken to another time.
Our room was a two-bedroom apartment. It is very roomy, with two large beds (one with a king-sized bed, one with two singles), a lounge, a kitchen and huge bathroom with separate toilet. The beds are firm but comfortable if you like that. Everything is laid on, even slippers for when you get out of the shower. The only issue is that given the age of the doors, the handles aren't as functional as they once were. The rooms were clean and serviced daily. There are heated pools outside to relax in surrounded by pretty landscaping, plus a sauna.
There are a large number of rooms at the hotel, but we weren't bothered by street noise or people talking at all.
The buffet breakfast is fantastic with cooked and continental options. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
I would love to come back one day.
I have always liked the Princess Gate Hotel. It's old world charm, but up to date facilities (fantastic showers and free wifi). Good food as well. Even the breakfast poached eggs are runny. Great location too, between the park, lake and CBD and literally across the road from the Sir Howard Morrison Centre where I attended a conference.
Great location, value for money and staff that assisted quickly and with generous offers eg. Dine in as a guest 10% voucher.
Bathroom probably needs an upgrade soon or at least ventilation fans installed.
Great location
Parking can be tricky
A lovely boutique style hotel, with something to accommodate everyone. Have stayed previously on business and would happily stay again personally.
Large croup accommodated very well. With lovely restaurant onsite and within easy walking distance of shops and supermarkets, this is a great place to stay. A thank you to the staff for looking after us so well
Location was great. Lovely to stay in such a historic building.
Unique accommodation full of character and personality. Definitely not a boring clinical hotel.
Couldn’t fill the kettle in the bathroom sink.
Service was amazing. Old world feel but everything was exceptional! Lovely staff.
