The buildings and rooms were big and very opulent. It was a joy to see the way the room was decorated. It had everything we needed!
It seemed like they were a little short-staffed the night we were there. It took a very long time to be greeted and helped when we came to the front desk and the restaurant. However, the people working seemed to be working hard and were very nice.
Also, just a note - Rotorua is a very suplhuric-smelling town! The smell lingered in the car and in our noses for quite a while after we left town. Just be braced for that.
Lovely old-school luxury vibe. Great value.
Off-street parking is purely hypothetical. We had to park in a back street. Fine for our rental car, but if we had one of our own cars, we'd not have been pleased, for a place that claims to be five star.
The outdoor facilities ans staff were wonderful
Love the ambience of this incredible historic hotel; the beautiful log fires, pictures, chandeliers! The decor in general was outstanding. Dedicated, friendly, flexible and kind staff.
The complimentary bread and dips was much appreciated with supper.
We loved everything.
It might be good to add a topper to the bed as it was a little firm.
Lovely staff and Sunday lunch
Rooms a little too small considering large chandeliers
Great location
Historic hotel, hot pool renovation, fires lovely in evening in comfy lounge.
Paving around hot pool, needs upgrading.
The most beautiful hotel! Cosy, charming, absolutely gorgeous rooms full of character. The natural hot pools were incredible - 3 different pools with slightly different temperatures. Nothing was too much fir the staff, they all made me feel so welcome. This is EASILY the best hotel I've stayed in, in New Zealand!
Nothing at all.
The location and facilities (especially the pool)
Breakfast items ran out quickly with quite a delay between refills.
Beautiful Victorian Style boutique accomodation!
