From checking into checking out, the staff showed amazing kindness and professionalism. The restaurants were outstanding the service 10 out of 10.
Gym facilities, onsite laundry is nice however leaves a bit of a smell on the cleanly laundered clothes after.
We've been coming here for over 15 years and always come back at the same time every year. At first the greeting was somewhat warm... who appeared to be the manager said 'thank you for coming back all these years, we left a surprise in your room for you'. There was a very nice card. This year was especially important; as we were spreading our dogs' ashes in Tofino. Upon arriving, I didn't have access to my credit card due to a lock issue during our travels. It was not well received; as if not having access to a credit card was shamed upon even though I was the one offering alternate solutions of debit, Visa debit, cash. Also not very impressed with this; as you'd think the hotel would be the ones to find an alternate solution. It came to the point where I had to say; 'well I suppose we'll stay elsewhere'... to which I was very serious and prepared to. Following a resolution that I provided, we were finally able to check in. There has been many changes from the first few years we started coming here. They used to put out coffee and freshly baked cookies downstairs for the guests, and you used to be able to bring your dog onto the upper patio - which was nice as after dark this area is not safe, especially in the church area or behind the hotel if you need to walk your dog. The following day; a hotel staff member told us not to bring our dog onto the upper patio even though there were no signs stating this. For our dog; this place was very important as she used to come here with our other one that recently passed and was her safe space. The beds, I'm not sure what happened here as they aren't as comfortable as they once were are and are more on the overly firm side. The AC's work intermittently; and there is quite a bit of noise between rooms due to being an older building perhaps. Sadly, this will be our last year here. The end of an era.

The parking and the bed was a bit too soft. No amenities in the room (water) we found out later we had to ask at the front desk, info of that should be placed in the room.
Location was great.
Room was nice enough. Junior suite overlooking the harbour. Stayed twice in one week period. Both times were good.
Older property that has been renovated. Main floor hallway had an unpleasant odour.
The room was great.
The parking was a pain, as it was in a public parking lot away from the motel. Plus the parking spots were very difficult to park safely in.
