Only ok
Pros:

Stayed here the bank holiday weekend in May 26. Check in was ok nothing to write home about friendly wise, when we saw our family room I was abit shocked as to how shabby it was. Very worn and dated, chipped furniture very dull and drab. It’s an expensive hotel to stay in so was expecting a bit of luxury but got zero. The lobby in the hotel is odd looking, looks like there about to get the painters in lol, could do with some to be fair.
Breakfast is so low standard and not much there just the basics, again it’s expensive for what you get. Jurassic is what’s getting the people in there cos it can’t be the decor or food. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again for the prices they charge. Crazy.

Pros:

Ideal setting for a family with small children. Swimming pool, indoor playroom, arcade room and kitchen to heat baby food and clean bottles.
Outside the dinosaur park was brilliant with face painting, bouncy castle, castle playground and access outside hours.
We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings which catered for babies and toddlers.
We will be back again 😊

Was not worth the money especially my little girl was let down.
Pros:

Very clean rooms beds very comfortable delighted to have a bath and shower. Good breakfast selection. Lifts were fast. Good air conditioning and also had underfloor heating.

Cons:

Booked 1 adult and 1 child online when arrived reception staff (male) told me I had booked in 2 children and 1 adult that he could not do
Anything I had to go through the app I checked my booking on my phone and it was for one adult and one child. The next problem was I took cash out then said they couldn’t take it needed a card. The manager was called for and said for this one time I could pay cash. The receptionist took the cash and recounted the money I gave €500 and the stay cost €458 and handed me back €1. He didn’t tell me the diansour park was free while staying. The furniture was quite old and very marked. Second morning for breakfast got told to u to the toddler room I was not happy nor was my daughter to be put in whit kids running round screaming and not eating. Couldn’t hear myself think.

Worth it for Jurassic Newpark
Pros:

The hotel itself is very nice, though not outstanding. We stayed for two nights, and had two dinners and a lunch in the bar restaurant, as the more formal one wasn't open. The service is great, and food is good - though again, not amazing. The swimming pool is a bit small and the gym equipment needs some TLC. For families, there are two games rooms - one for toddlers, one for big kids, and there's a parenting room. These all feel a bit dated, but useful to have them.

What makes the Newpark remarkable is the dinosaur-themed pet farm attached to it. It kept our two kids entertained the whole day long, and we were back the next morning. It has live animals, animatronic dinosaurs, a funfair ride, a castle, a fairy trail, and bits of playground all over. While this sounds like a slapdash mix, it is very well put together and the kids loved it. We'll be back for that!

Newpark's heart is DIXIE!
Pros:

I went to Kilkenny for a funeral, staying at the Newpark and I was given a lovely 2-double-bedded bedroom the night before AND a lovely munificent breakfast the next day. BUT most importantly both at lunch and after-funeral lunch I was lucky to be served by the terrific server, DIXIE. She was smart, efficient, a problem solver and bent over backwards with the smallest requests. All with the biggest smile and kindest of hearts. She sorted my veggie/soya milk requests brilliantly! Any company would be very lucky to have her as an employee. She would shine in any business or career, but it's rare these days to benefit from such genuine care and attention. SO, thank you Dixie! Separately, it was lovely seeing all the families at breakfast. The Newpark seems like a real family and community hotel with several restaurants, special events rooms and bar/carvery. Something for everyone and the bustle is very friendly. Two different moms said the Newpark was perfect for their family of 2 toddlers: only 90' from Dublin so less fretful for little kids AND with a great pool, dinosaur petting zoo nearby, the castle, the gardens etc. Unlike having to pack for away hols that exhausted them with tiny kiddy winks. In both mom's cases, the Newpark was perfect! The hotel also feels like it's the centre of everything. Food is good too. As a veggie, my tip to all food places is to be sure to supply some protein. So some hummus or a scatter of cannellini beans on risotto or pasta would be much appreciated. But MORE APPRECIATED was Dixie who I hope has a long career in whatever makes her most fulfilled--all the staff at Newpark seem to love their jobs BUT Dixie was the best ever! Thanks to all!

Over priced and over rated
Pros:

We had heard so much about this hotel and wanted to love it, but overall it was disappointing. It’s very over priced for what it is and does not feel like a four star hotel. The interiors are tired and dated. Our room was basic, nothing special at all. The sink in the bathroom was cracked, as was the toilet bowl.
We ate at Scott’s restaurant one evening and we were not impressed. The portions were absolutely tiny and it was just basic. The front of house staff member was also very rude to us, chasing us accusing us of not having a credit card on hold, when you actually can’t check in without one.
The ladies pool changing room is in need of an upgrade. There were broken floor tiles and it was dirty.
Positives are the hotel is very child friendly and the dinosaur theme park is brilliant.

Let our family take care of yours - true to every word
Pros:

It was great to back - as always - for our 8th visit to a lovely Newpark Hotel. From entering the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff at the reception. Whatever we have have asked for - everything was (as always) never too much and dealt with immediately. On this occasion we would like to mention certain staff members for going an extra mile for us on this occasion: 1. Aga for arranging change to our room at a very short notice and for being Aga:) 2. Mary for finding a quiet spot for us (as wedding reception was already taking place) to celebrate our younger daughter's birthday. 3. Magda for being very helpful and accomodating during our visits to Jurassic Newpark and 4. Dixie for being super attentive during breakfast time. All staff members were as always very friendly, helpful, accomodating and professional. Also great to see new facilities being added to Jurassic Newpark - it seems like there is always something new for kids to try everytime we are visiting. Both of our daughters love this place and we are really looking forward to our next visit to Newpark Hotel in September. We are looking forward to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our Newpark family. Until then.

Absolutely diabolical
Pros:

If you're thinking of booking your wedding here, think again. The service was terrible! Pre arranged and paid for persecco for the bridal party in hair and make up was abandoned by the hotel due to 1 bridesmaid being pregnant. No one called this. It was the hotels decision.
The wedding sign telling people they were in the right place was not changed from the day before, arriving guests presumed they were in the wrong place.
The bridal suite was not ready for the bride to dress until 10 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin. On calling reception numerous times to ask what the hold up was, the phone was hung up 3 times and the wedding co-ordinator was no where to be found. Ignoring calls. This caused terrible stress for the bride, who was in tears at least 3 times that morning. On complaint, the manager sent up 8 empty glasses to the bridesmaids and bride with 1 bottle of persecco. This was not the courtesy that it was made out to be but a quarter of what was paid for and not received. No one seemed to care that this was the brides special day. At the drinks reception, people were left queuing at un-staffed carts.
At the after dinner reception, staff were actively collecting full drinks from the table, forcing people to purchase more when returning to the table from the dance floor. All in all an absolute debacle of a wedding 2 years in the planning. No one cared. No one showed up when asked to do so and the wedding co-ordinator Michaela was not seen for the rest of the day, leaving a manager to escort the bridal party to the outdoor venue. No signs or staff to show the way. Staff moved all the guests up to the front, leaving no room for the groomsmen or bridesmaids. All guest had to quickly move when this became clear. There were not enough chairs for the guests, leaving many to stand at the back with no seating. It was a wedding of 80 and only 65 chairs were provided.
Think twice before booking this venue.
