Highly recommend Hotel Newpark. Staff all so friendly and helpful. Breakfast great for the kids so much choice. The Jurassic Newpark was a great hit with the kids. Highly recommend Hotel Newpark for a family stay, so close to Kilkenny city too!!
Great hotel located in the centre. Only problem is that the car park is 5mins walk away. Also breakfast is not self-serving.
We booked the Newpark Hotel's Terrace option for a corporate event with guests travelling from across Ireland and the UK, it was outstanding. We opted for the BBQ, and it was a huge hit with everyone. The food was exceptional, and the service was first-class from start to finish. The location is perfect. 6 mins drive from city centre.
A special thanks to Aoife and Gill's team, AGA the Duty Manager, Clodagh and her team for delivering such a phenomenal experience. The professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made it a memorable experience for all our attendees. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everything
Noise from the terrace bar.
Alex Luscbgk is brilliant. He went above and beyond in his duties to accommodate us.
Dirty carpets, worn furnishings
Lovely stay as usual at newpark. Big shout out to our server luminita top class service !!!
Good location
Rooms dated, general dirtiness. Room cleaning terrible
Really family friendly & the staff had a lot of patience for kids at dinner/brekkie or even just running around having fun in the lobby
The rooms were a little loud at night I could hear into the next rooms tv maybe it was just on really loud. We had young kids so we were in bed earlier than everyone else. It didn’t make our stay feel any less enjoyable though
Location was good
Wasn’t very clean. Leather booths in bar very sticky as were all floors in reception
Staff were excellent
The room was too warm and no air conditioning in it. We were only given a desk fan. The food in the restaurant was very poor and very expensive. Would not recommend eating in the restaurant. The selection of breakfast was very slim. The staff were very rude at breakfast.
Breakfast amazing
Everything was amazing ,the location the facilities unreal and brilliant for kids.
I didn't like the fact that on checking in i was asked for a credit card to hold my booking but I told them I dont own a credit card ,only my bank card and revolut in which he had to go ask his manager if my bank cards were sufficient.
I just dont get it ,not everyone has a credit card ,so to stay again I need to sign myself up for a credit card ? Its actually ridiculous my visa debit card should be good enough. Really started our stay of on the wrong path.
My family and I stayed in the Newpark Hotel this weekend. Overall it reminded me a lot of Amber Springs. Very basic rooms and they were extremely warm even with air con. We had to pre book swimming times which was stressful considering my kids are only young. The breakfast was poor and I ordered an americano which I had to pay €4.50 for (extra charge). The second morning I ordered the same coffee and it was €4.20. Crazy price either way for black coffee. The car park was a disaster and my car was scratched twice due to the spaces being so small. The food in the bar and terrace was very mediocre and expensive. The kids enjoyed Jurassic park but that too was very “Irish”. The swimming pool changing rooms were filthy and smelly. The pool water wasn’t clear it was cloudy. My mam and I had spa treatments booked for the first morning and when we arrived the therapist told us we would have to go one after another rather than the same time (both were booked for 11am). This disrupted our plans for the day so I cancelled my massage and was left disappointed. The following day I took my husbands appointment for his massage. Casey the therapist was amazing. I have to say the massage was the highlight of my weekend.
Got a pick and mix service. Casey did a really good job.
Just returned from a 1 night stay with our kids (3 and 6). Pros and cons. Pros: Jurassic newpark is cute and the right size. The wooden castle playground is beautiful and the other little play areas are nice too. Definitely a nice way to spend an afternoon and as a resident you can pop in after dinner in the evening for another play and it’s lovely and quiet.
Ate in Scott’s brassiere and while the food was good the service wasn’t. Had a reservation so seated promptly and given menus but no drinks order taken at this point, I had to try grab someone’s attention about 10-15 mins after we were seated. The drinks themselves then took another while to the point that I had to follow up again as the kids were half way through their meals. Seemed to be tons of staff so not sure what the issue is. The redeeming factor was the food itself. The JJ mascot came in which was a lovely touch for kids but he only focused on one part of the room and was about to leave. I had to ask the waiter would he mind grabbing the mascot for a picture as my little boy watched on hoping he would come to our table.
The hotel website describes “4 star luxury” - on that basis I have to say I was disappointed, maybe it’s luxury if you’re in a suite. The deluxe family rooms were average. Beds were comfy but buzzing sound coming from the ventilation and carpet ripped in parts. The rooms and common areas are 3 star.
Would I recommend.. yes for 1 night with the kids and had it not been marketed as 4 star luxury I’d probably feel different and I’d have had a different expectation but I wouldn’t return.
Perfect stay for families with young kids/toddlers. The staff are very accomodating, kids meals very good. Jurassiac newparks facilities are brilliant, very handy that it cam be used outaide opening hours for residents. Ill definitely be back. Staff very accomodating.
Unfortunately, we were there during a heatwave, so the first room we were given had no aircon. It was very uncomfortable for us, we asked at reception to be changed and we were moved to a room with aircon. Which made all the difference.
