Mercure Goulburn charged us for mini bar item we did not use. When we contacted them to dispute they didn't even respond.
Room, bed and bathroom were clean and modern. Great location not far from M31/Hume Highway
The fire alarm had two red lights that blinked constantly, which interfered with my sleep. Though I am a restless sleeper and perhaps the battery just needs to be changed
The greeting by the staff member made the difference for me. She was very welcoming.

Spacious modern and clean
Mattress needs replacing - sags in the middle so you tend to roll down hill towards the middle
Be aware that everything you see in the photos looks significantly better than the reality. If anything, expect less.
This is a bare-minimum motel trading on an expensive brand name. The room was gloomy, had a stale smell with hints of cigarette smoke, and was fitted with cheap looking furniture. There is absolutely nothing about this property that justifies charging over $200 per night.
To make matters worse, they charged an extra $20 for a baby cot, which felt absurd given the room rate. The staff attitude was equally disappointing — more of a "where have you been?" attitude than any genuine attempt at hospitality or customer service.
I've stayed in far better motels for less price. Save your money and stay elsewhere. The only thing five-star about this place is its confidence in overcharging guests

Conveniently located and easy to get to places, lovely big room, great heating and great service (daily cleaning services).
Clean room, good location, friendly staff.
The bed in our room was dreadfully uncomfortable. The mattress was very soft which wasn't the issue. The base of the bed seemed to be broken causing the mattress to sink in the middle badly. Very uncomfortable to sleep in. There was also a tear in the bottom sheet.
