breakfast very good . Room nice and new and clean . Dinner, was very reasonably priced .Chips were good but loaded chips with cheese must have been very very mild cheese as no cheese taste whatsoever . Would have been lovely to taste the cheese . tempura prawns has normal fish batter not tempura batter . Soggy bread tuna and cucumber sandwich ,thin mayo ,watery . Would have been great if thicker consistency ..Ate there a lot and food was ok .Just a few complaints . All in all a very nice stay there and would go again .But would be wonderful if they had pizza oven and served pizza .They would do very well with it. Perhaps next time they will have one .
No lift .Just a tiny one would do to the bedrooms
.No pizza served . No streaky bacon .Ran out of clotted cream for scones .THE WORST THING that I found really strange and very annoying was that the scones were made with BROWN flour and so were dry and hard . Such a shame I would have had one every day and so would my husband, as they looked nice apart from the brown colour. Inever knew people made BROWN FLOUR SCONES .Look at all good chefs .Its WHITE FLOUR for scones .Please use white next time
Excellent location, sea views, clean and tidy, good food, lively roo.m
I liked everything about my stay
Beautiful Art Deco breakfast room, terrace that looks out to sea. Art Deco styling in rooms, furnished to a high quality (but showing a little wear now). Real ale in the bar at a very good price. Great breakfast, mix of buffet and table service. Reusable bottles of water in room. Friendly staff
By chance there was a big event on, so difficult to contact reception to advise late arrival, we checked in anyway!
Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location with a view of the beach was stunning. The lunchtime food was good. Cocktails and drinks were great. The areas on the ground level were well presented.
The rooms need updating particularly the furniture and bathroom was unclean due to use, the shower did not operate correctly, the sink seemed to block and tap hard to operate. Overall the room was poor and I would have happily paid more at this hotel had the rooms been up to date. I cannot however complain about the bed and sheets were clean, we also had a pleasant view as opted for a room with a sea view. I will keep an eye on this hotel for future as if the rooms are refurbished I would definitely return.
The location is perfect.
All the staff are lovely with excellent customer service skills. Always friendly and ready with a smile to assist where ever needed.
The only objection was paying extra to have a balcony with sea view. Our sea view was the roof of the restaurant and the air conditioning unit which made noise all throughout the night. The balconies do not get checked as a seagull had made a nest and had 2 babies. This meant if we did sit out for some air, we were dive bombed by the parents and screamed at the whole time we were out there, looking at the restaurants roof!
Beautiful beach, lovely walks
Close to beach
The room wasn’t air conditioned and the window couldn’t be opened
This was in the middle of a red weather alert
There were multiple items on each menu that they had run out of and food produced was not very nice
Really friendly helpful staff and excellent food. Lovely room.
lovely outside area looking across the beach
breakfast was fine
location was great And good parking
rooms a bit dated carpets looking older
Clean, good position
The long wait after ordering food, my only complaint
Perfect location for nearby birthday celebration
No lift very difficult for us going up stairs
Lovely place but could do with a bit of an update, carpets etc
A bit tired and needs a bit of tlc.
Roast dinner wasn't brilliant, veg very under cooked and chicken seemed lime it my of been cooked from frozen, but that's just my opinion I might be wrong .
Friendly reception staff and Maggie
Restaurant service.booked a table but had to ask for menus and then to order. (Not busy)
My partner had the grill breakfast most days and said it was really good whereas I only had cereal and toast so it was nothing special. We usually went for breakfast around 9am and by then they had ran out of some things but the staff were usually good and fetched things thst we wanted. The meals in the bar wernt that good and just basic pub food so we ate out and the fig down the road most nights which was a shame.
The last night we were there they had a big function which meant we has to find a table and order our drinks which we hadn't had to do the rest of the week which was annoying but them went in to pay for the drinks only to find people of the party ordering drinks at the bar which we couldn't do which felt a bit off.
