Very friendly & helpful. Quiet beachfront location. Walking distance to town. On site bar & restaurant. Balcony with sea view. Gym & Spa. Activities available, eg: aqua yoga, cycling, volleyball.

Everything about this property was great, the location inside the luscious Playacar compound, which is dotted with ancient Mayan ruins and makes a pleasant 10 minutes walk to the start of Av 5. The resort itself was available for us to use fully, including all the pools, jacuzzi, gym and the huge beachfront was unaffected by the seaweed. The apartment itself is spacious with terrace and amazing seafront views. No lift but not a problem because there’s always staff available to gladly carry your bags to and from the apartment, even before you’ve asked for help. The compound is fully secured and free parking available. The host was very accommodating and was fine with a late checkout as they didn’t have a booking for the day.

We rented a unit through Vrbo which was dated but I can’t comment on the state of rooms rented through the rental companies. The beach is wonderful when there is no sargassum. Wide sand beach. Nice gradual entry to the blue ocean with nice waves to jump some days. You can walk either direction for quite awhile. The lounger situation was a bit wild! We opened our window and looked out the first morning and it was 6:30 am and chairs were already reserved with towels!! My husband started going out at 6:30 or 7 am each day to get ours. The pool chairs were always filled up but we could get a beach chair. The pool is nice and warm. Not huge but clean and warm. There is a beach bar/pool bar and restaurant for lunch with chair service, tho they don’t come that often and you likely end up going to the bar to order yourself and have them bring it to your chair. Wendy was the best for coming around and taking orders. Marcos at the bar was funny and helpful. The location in Playacar is good. You can walk to the shops and restaurants in playa del Carmen, or to the ferry to Cozumel. It would be nice if there was a shuttle or public bus that ran every half hour or something because the walk gets tiresome. There are no stores or restaurants in this area of playacar so you have to walk or take a taxi. Taxi to the closest area of shops is 200 pesos so it adds up. Fun holiday

Nice small resort with a great beach. However, this time there is a problem with sargassum algae. The staff has been working hard to clear it with wheel barrows and rakes.
The pool is great for adults and children. Lupita, the activities director, conducts yoga, water aerobics, bingo, food and drink tastings and much more.
At the bar, are friendly, funny and talented staff, such as Armando, Wendy, and Wilder. Armando can fix any situation you ask of him. Karina, the lifeguard, is strong and reliable.
At the front desk, Valerie is indispensable for problem solving.
Food is great with a different theme each day.

Lovely place by the beach , Monika was really nice and responsive.

Fisherman’s is our favorite place to visit. We always have such a wonderful time, the food is great, the rooms are very clean, the walk town is so convenient and a great way to end your evening, and the view is nothing short of spectacular. It’s a great environment for both families, couples and groups of friends.

The waitstaff and bartenders are great: Rigoberto, Samuel, and Marcos are all wonderful and will ensure you have a great meal (or drink); Oscar (the chef) will always make you a delicious meal!

Valeria and Marcial will ensure you have a wonderful stay and will help sort out anything you need.

And Andy and Lupita will ensure you have a fun time with all of the great activities! Thank you everyone for a great stay, we can’t wait to come back next year!!!

Sunset Fishermen beach resort in Playa Del Carmen is a great place to vacation! I enjoyed the catamaran ride with Andy. Food was great and very reasonably priced. Our room was rented thru VRBO, owner was Pamela, room 221. It was very large, beautiful decorated, very comfortable and up to date. Staff in all areas we polite, helpful and very welcoming.

Andy and the entire team were great! We had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful, staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Fisherman’s is truly my home away from home in Playa del Carmen. Every time I stay here I’m reminded why I keep coming back. The ocean views are absolutely breathtaking, and the entire resort has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

What truly makes this place special is the incredible staff who consistently go above and beyond.

A special thank you to Jermaine, the Manager, who is always friendly, approachable, and helpful. Yedid in Member Services is outstanding—professional, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect.

The Activities team, Andy and Lupita, bring so much energy and fun to each day with their great activities.

Katrina the lifeguard is also wonderful—always attentive, friendly, and making everyone feel safe and welcome around the pool and beach.

Rocio and Olivia in Housekeeping are wonderful. I always love coming back to my room after a day at the pool to find everything spotless and the adorable towel creations on the bed—it always makes me smile.

Thank you as well to Guillermo and Romeo, our amazing waiters at lunch and dinner who always provided fantastic service. Alberto in Maintenance was quick and helpful when I had an issue in my suite.

I’d also like to recognize Marcial at the Welcome Desk, and Daniella, Victor, Valeria, and the entire Reception team, who are always welcoming and helpful. And of course Valentin at the towel bar, who is always friendly and attentive.

Thank you to the entire Fisherman’s team for making this one of my best stays ever. Your kindness and dedication truly make this resort special.
