Enjoyed the experience overall, but poor vegan breakfast.
Pros:

Location is great, grounds are nice, some of the hotel facilities felt like they needed some TLC, like the bedroom & the swimming pool.

Cons:

No vegan hot breakfast items in stock - staff very apologetic, but poor experience.

Cons:

Breakfast was "fully booked"...! eh? What if we'd prepaid breakfast when booking the room though? it didn't make any logical sense... what hotel wouldn't be able to serve breakfast to all its occupants??? that's kind of the point of a hotel; otherwise it's nothing more than a MOTEL!

Also, tired but functional furniture in the room. Broken lift. Trip hazard on stairs as screws were protruding from the steps. Yikes.

Perfect location shame about service and food
Pros:

Room was clean apart from mould in room

Cons:

Food and service is absolutely terrible food is the worst I've ever eaten and I'm not a fussy eater soup so thick and cold I could wallpaper the walls with it bread so stale I couldn't cut it with a knife without it breaking into a million bits carvery style dinner on a Saturday night served with salad all of witch was inedible didn't even bother with pudding and there were no allergies signs on anything and no custard left
mouldy wall in bedroom 0205 would not recommend to anyone real shame as is situated in such a lovely location

The car park was full and the receptionist was very unhelpful - had to sort ourselves.
Bathroom was tiny and the shower was very difficult to work

Cons:

I got to the hotel and was greeted by the receptionist. I gave her my name. And she told me somebody else had got my room by the name of Griffiths, and my surname is Griffin and the person who had checked into my room had only just gone in the room how can the receptionist get the names wrong. She phoned the room and the person said aI not moving out of the room, so I take it from that my room was a good room and the one I got was a bit dark and dismal. No, sorry, not even. Can we do anything to make this up to you as it was the receptionist's fault?

Pros:

Although there was a wedding and it was full to capacity, the service was great and the staff so nice, especially the young men on the health club reception.
The room was really quiet despite the wedding party.

Great stay and amazing price!
Pros:

Great value for money. Clean room. Everything we needed and expected for one night. Lovely picturesque building!

Cons:

Room was a bit dated (decor and furniture). Shower and bed could have been a bit better. But having said that for price of the room for the night we couldn’t have expected it to be the most modern etc. It was clean and overall a good stay.
