Candlewood Suites Lake Mary by IHG

We bought a handicap room and when we got there, they said they're elevator was broken and our room was on the fourth floor so we would've had to log a wheelchair person up for flights of stairs along with all of our luggage!!!!!
They were aware of it from a previous day, but didn't bother to contact anybody and let us know .

A little rundown

So where do I begin, how about the housekeeping. It's only done every 7 days. That seems too far apart in my opinion. I'm a supervisor at Best Western Plus in Vermont and seeing how the rooms were, hallways not vacuumed and how unfriendly the housekeeping was. It wasn't a welcoming feeling at all. And trying to ask for anything, forget it. Anyway, now the stay. Well the first room I was put into (3rd floor) had a bad musty smell that was due from humidity. That would've been fine however the ceiling was turning black from it which created mold. There was no telephone in the room either. I asked for two extra towels and were never given them until the day before I left which was 4 days later. The elevator broke the next day and was not ever fixed. I asked for a different room due to whatever was causing the bad humidity in the room I was originally assigned. We would wake up and the mirrors would be wet, the carpet as well and along with all of our clothes. I ended up having to wash everything before leaving. The next room they gave us was located on the 4th floor, so with no elevator that meant having to lug our suitcases upstairs, along with everything else. Now that room did have a telephone, but it did not work. The room was much better besides the carpet still being wet. There was no bad smell though. So it was doable. The only issues we ended up getting after being assigned that room was our key 9 out of 10 times would not work. They also put somebody next to us that was screaming and breaking things as well as slamming doors at 11pm up until 1am. I went downstairs to report them because we were due to leave at 230am the following day, the front desk guy brushed it off and acted like I was lying. He said "I just did a walk through and it was quiet". Oh and the unfortunate last disappointment was the pool, it was not cleaned the entire time we were there so no one ever got to use it and the temperature of it was extremely warm.

The elevator was out of service was told that it just happened.but was informed by someone else that it hasn't worked in a week.it would have been nice to know before hand the stairs smelled so disgusting I would be embarrassed to send any guests up those.

Room 327 smelled very moist, borderline moldy. So we kept the air-dryer running most of the time.

This place is run down, has a terrible smell they try to mask. There was a roach in the bathroom, hair just everywhere embedded in every towel, hair or pubic hair, hair in the shower, on the side table

Any potential to rate higher lost by smarmy desk clerk on check in. After 1 pm so all tierd but his atrocious hand writing and patronizing explanation of hotel key numbering system when all i wanted was a legable room. Number tubed this place for me.
Definitely going to La Quinta next door next trip.
