This hotel was in poor condition. I don't mind a dated facility but this comfort inn was dirty and run down. All the grout in the shower had various degrees of mold on it. There was a stain on the back of the sofa that appeared to still be greasy. The pull out mattress on the sofa that one of my children had to sleep on appear to have had someone murdered on it at some point and was completely falling apart. We had booked the hotel for five people yet they only put three towels in our room. I got additional towels for the first night and they were replaced after the first night stay which was a good thing but when they replace them, they did it with 3 towels again. The hotel had a pool but it appeared that there was a large section of the wall in that room that had water damage/mold issues. The furniture throughout the hotel was in various states of disrepair and or had several stands on them. The air conditioner in our room also did not work on auto or regular on. It would cycle on and off at its own will. The only silver light was the breakfast was okay for a chain hotel. Do not recommend it's worth another hundred bucks to stay somewhere else. I was very disappointed in this experience.
Do not be fooled by the 4.2 rating. Someone must have spammed positive reviews. I was so grossed out. Everything was run down, paint peeling and mold in the ancient shower. The only reason I stayed one night is because it was too late in the day to change. I will never stay here or any other Comfort Suites again. It gets one star because they cancelles and refunded my second night stay.
Get what you pay for. Rates are some of the lowest for a suite. But there were issues. Toilet set was cracked. Food on carpet from previous stay. Room had a musty smell upon arrival.
There was some mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and our shower curtain rod was barely hanging on. I’m fine that the TV and furniture is a bit dated. But cleanliness doesn’t cost money. Family was a bit disappointed with our stay.
Not the nicest hotel. But a good stay for the price. Fitness center could use some work, but the staff during the day are nice. I had to depart early and the gentleman attended front desk was very understanding and helpful.
Stayed here one night. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. The pool was nice for the kids. We had a suite and beds were comfortable. This is a good location right outside of Providence and decently priced.
We stayed here because we needed a room that could sleep five people on a budget. We almost always stay at Hilton properties, but there weren't any suites available locally, so we decided to give this hotel a try.
I also want to say that I'm not someone who jumps to conclusions based on online reviews. I usually take negative reviews with a grain of salt because many of them seem to boil down to disagreements with the front desk or complaints about customer service. In fact, Jason at check-in was genuinely kind and helpful throughout our stay, so I want to give credit where it's due.
Unfortunately, the reviews describing the condition of the hotel were absolutely accurate.
The lobby seemed fine when we arrived. The pool is directly in front of the entrance, so you're immediately greeted by the smell of chlorine, which honestly didn't bother me. Our room was just down the hall.
The moment we opened the room door, though, we were hit with an overwhelming odor. To me it smelled like someone had tried to cover something up with a very strong, cheap pine cleaner. My daughter insisted it smelled like urine. Either way, it was unpleasant and overpowering.
I went back to the front desk to ask if there was a fan, and Jason was kind enough to provide one. We ran it in front of the open window for about an hour. The smell improved slightly but never really went away. While the window was open, we noticed the screen was bent and the windowsill was filled with dead bugs.
Things didn't improve from there. When we opened the sleeper sofa, the mattress was heavily stained. Looking more closely, the stains appeared to be rust rather than something else, but it still made for a terrible first impression. There were also no sheets, blanket, or pillow for the sofa bed, so I had to make another trip to the front desk to get bedding.
Before booking, I had read a review mentioning mold on a lampshade. I honestly assumed that was either an isolated issue or an exaggeration. It wasn't—our room also had mold growing on the lampshade.
Another review complained that the shower curtain didn't keep water inside the tub. Again, I assumed that was just someone's bad experience. It turned out to be true. Water poured onto the bathroom floor, and judging by the condition of the bathroom door, it had clearly been happening for quite some time.
The stained desk chair looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The sofa pillows were not only badly stained, but also ripped, making them look worn out and unsanitary. Even the closet door wouldn't close properly, adding to the sense that basic maintenance had been neglected.
Breakfast was...meh. It was enough to get us fed before heading out for the day, but that's about the best I can say. The eggs and sausage were very much the typical fast-food-style offerings. There was only one toaster for everyone, and there weren't even tongs available to grab bread. There were two waffle makers, and the waffles themselves were actually pretty good, but one of the waffle irons had crumbs baked into it. I honestly couldn't figure out how that even happens, and it just reinforced the feeling that cleanliness and attention to detail weren't priorities.
The staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful, but that couldn't overcome the condition of the property. If you're simply looking for the cheapest place to sleep, this may meet that need, but based on our experience, I would not stay here again.
Nasty- plumbing issues - We were handed a plunger which was gross moments after arriving! Sheets had cigarette holes and the floor was so bad with cigarette smoke they did not enforce no smoking! As an Asthmatic I look for smoke free! Our sheets had nasty stains that appeared dirty like the bed wasn't changed! I would not stay there again!
Hotel was in a convenient location, close to a number of dining options and stores - close to highway. Overall facility was quite dated and it showed throughout. Our room was dirty - dirty pillow, hair on pillows. Shower was run down. Found rodent droppings on a chair I was going to sit in within breakfast area.
Disgusting hotel. Hallways smelled, the carpets were stained in our room. The comforter had a blood stain on it. The pullout bed had blood stains all over the mattress. Just a filthy place. The breakfast was pretty much inedible other than muffins or a waffle. The desk person when we checked in seemed like he would rather be anywhere else than working there. Overall a horrible experience. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and a lot of Comfort Inns and this was by far the worst. I have no idea how this hotel has decent ratings.
I traveled with my family of five, including three children, and the condition of the hotel room and property was completely unacceptable. Upon check-in, I immediately inspected the room and found numerous serious cleanliness and safety issues that made me uncomfortable allowing my family to stay there.
The issues included:
• Four out of eight pillows had visible dirt, black smears, and dried crusted substances on them
•When I reported this to the front desk, I was simply handed replacement pillowcases rather than clean pillows
• The bathroom was extremely unsanitary, with visible mold throughout the bathtub area
• The shower sprayed water out onto the bathroom floor
• There were splatters and stains on the walls, bathroom walls and bathroom door frame
• The couch cushions were heavily stained and ripped
• Upon opening the sofa bed, there were crumbs throughout it and extensive urine stains covering the mattress
• The air conditioning vent had visible mold
• Lampshades throughout the room were stained and dirty
• The flooring had numerous stains throughout the room
• The dresser was being stabilized with a folded piece of cardboard
• The pool was so cloudy and dirty that the bottom was not visible
• There were no pool towels available
• A side entrance door to the property was being propped open with a rock, creating a major security concern and allowing unrestricted access into the hotel
Because of these conditions, we did not feel safe or comfortable staying at the property with our children. After checking in and seeing the room, we left the hotel, went to dinner, and ultimately found another hotel to stay in for the remainder of our trip. We didn’t even stay one night. That is how uncomfortable and unacceptable the conditions were.
I have photographs documenting the condition of the room and property and will provide them.
These conditions are far below what should reasonably be expected from any hotel, especially one representing your brand. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and security created an environment that felt both unhealthy and unsafe for my family.
Clean, comfortable and quiet. I am a traveling health care professional and highly recommend this hotel. I arrived after 9pm for check in and had no issues. All I want out of a hotel is a safe clean quiet environment with no pest or rodents. I like to feel safe and comfortable and I hate smelling smoke. I have no Complaints. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, my room was spotless!!! Checked in happy and checked out happy.
Nice hotel. Good experience. Just a short distance from the Providence Airport
Hair in my bed. Gross! Shower curtain is stained and installed too close to the shower to where you can’t shower without rubbing up against it constantly.
Quoted 355, charged 430. No explanation, no receipt. Room was clean, but wall paper in the halls was beginning to peel.
This is the best comfort inn I've stayed in and the quality far surpassed the price. It's located on interstate 95 and is relatively close to nearby cities and attractions but not too much to do in the immediate vicinity other than shopping eating or buying a car.lol
The staff will accommodate your requests with no hassle. We do a lot of road trips so the most important things to us are a comfortable bed, a clean shower with lots of hot water, and a good breakfast before we get back on the road. One of the best motel experiences we ever had. I highly recommend this place.
This hotel is in need of upgrades, the beds were horrible, bathroom was so small could barely turn around in it. The room had a musty smell to it and not up to Choice standards.
This hotel is absolutely awful. Front desk employees are nowhere to be found and when you finally do find them after having an issue, they are no help whatsoever. Sketchy people and crackheads walk around the hotel harassing people and the hotel management has no care in the world. Rooms are filthy and ghetto. Ice machines simply do not work. You also need to get a new room key every single day as they deactivate after one use. Please do not come here this place needs to be shut down immediately.
Location
Carpets dirty. Pillows lumpy and uncomfortable. Only 2 hangers. Shower curtain in correct size- did not close.
