Smart and had clearly been refurbished.
None no lift to the upper floor.
The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. There was plenty of parking.

We had a great stay at Thatcher’s. Our room was clean & very comfortable.
Our room was very large (larger than most hotel rooms) and comfortable, the bathroom was also big with a nice bath in it. Staff were very friendly, the room was very clean. Parking was very easy. Breakfast and dinner were both very nice, good quality food and nice atmosphere. Beautiful location and surroundings. Very near Polesden Lacey which is a beautiful place to visit. Also not far from London by train. So location wise very ideal! And good value for money. Would recommend staying here!
The only thing that could be improved, the rooms were very warm despite it not being that warm outside. We opened the windows to let in cool air, but the windows could only open a little bit. Also there was no airconditioning. There was a fan in the room you could use if it was too warm. All in all would recommend this hotel, but the warmth of the rooms could be improved.

Decor, cleanliness, comfy bed, spacious room, nice bar and restaurant. Good parking.
Limited staff, who were very busy. It took time for tables to be cleared away because of this. Sometimes slow to refill breakfast trays.

We have used Thatcher’s a couple of times now while visiting our daughter at Surrey University. The hotel is clean the rooms are a good size and the reception staff were extremely helpful when I wanted to book an extra room. Nothing was too much trouble. The bar area is really welcoming and comfortable and the food is great. It did get quite busy on one of the evenings and the following morning at breakfast and tensions with the staff were visibly high but as far as the guests were concerned the staff were very friendly and polite.
The room was a bit too warm and as it was on the ground floor we couldn’t leave the windows open
