I really liked the overall stay. I had a spacious room a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. It was very quiet, too which I appreciate. The staff overall was very welcoming and nice.
There were a few small things. When I took out the iron to iron my white shirt for the day, the iron left a grey stain on my shirt. I took a towel to clean it and after, the towel had a big dark stain. I informed the reception who said they would check the iron. (I cleaned it already though. I was not asked for my shirt to be cleaned).
On my day of departure I asked for a possible late check out. I misunderstood the time and when I went back to the reception because I couldn't enter my room, I was a little surprised by the rudeness after I apoligized for the misunderstanding. My colleague was surprised as well.
Good breakfast, very helpful staff on reception
The very annoying and brusque room service staff knocked on my door every night asking if I needed anything. In my opinion, this approach violates the peace of the residents and does not correspond to the level of the 5* hotel.
Great hotel and location, food is amazing
What a perfect location for our 2 day tour of Johannesburg. Knowing it was an anniversary celebration trip, we were greeted with a beautifully decorated bed with rose pedals. The staff is exemplary - friendly, funny, helpful. So glad our travels brought us here.
Didn’t know what to expect as I’ve never been to Joburg. This hotel beat our expectations - excellent staff, comfortable (big and well-appointed rooms), safe, easy access for sightseeing and good food at the restaurants. If you’re in Joburg, this is the place to stay!
Very good! Excellent customer service and a shout out to Sheppard, at check-in. Staying there our first two nights of a long trip was a great start to our holiday. We had dinner at the fine dining restaurant and it was also exceptional, I especially loved the oysters!
