City centre. All members of staff were very pleasant, efficient and friendly.
The apartment was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable.

Good location with easy access
Pros:

The building and grounds were lovely. The pool area and BBQ area were great. Perfect location. Great having our own laundry and dryer.

Cons:

Our plates/bowls in the cupboards were covered in food. As were our cutlery. The floors needed a good clean as they were visibly dirty and the couch though comfortable was quite stained. The party that went until 2am with lots of drinking and swearing wasn't great for our young family. Though our room wasn't clean we heard other families rooms were fine.

We had a nice, relaxing family holiday without taking a second mortgage.
Pros:

Staff/owners were very helpful and approachable.
Nice pool and BBQ area.
City central and Cairns Central shopping centres were within walking distance.

Cons:

Cons:

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing from the outset.

Before arrival, we were surprised to learn there was a $10 per night charge for a baby cot. A one-off fee would have been understandable, but a nightly charge seemed excessive.

When we entered the apartment, we moved the bed against the wall to prevent our toddler from rolling out and discovered a significant amount of dirt and dust underneath. We contacted reception to request that a cleaner attend the following day, which was agreed to.

We then discovered the balcony door would not properly close or lock. There were dowels placed in the door tracks and, even when shut, there was a gap that could allow insects into the room. When we raised this concern, we were told management was aware of the issue and that it was “fine” because the dowels prevented anyone from entering. As parents of a toddler who had already managed to remove the dowels, our concern was less about intruders and more about safety and the door not functioning as intended.

We also requested bedding for the sofa bed, which was advertised as part of the room setup, only to be told there would be an additional charge.

At this point, given the accumulating issues, we asked whether it would be possible to receive a refund for the remaining two nights so we could move elsewhere. We were advised this would not be possible and that the owner would come to the room to discuss our concerns.

When she arrived, she appeared surprised that the balcony door would not shut properly despite our earlier conversation about the issue. She advised that another room had been prepared for us. When I asked about bedding for the sofa bed, she responded with an eye roll, stated that it was in the room, and left abruptly.

The cleanliness of the first room was particularly concerning. Within 20 minutes of showering and walking around the apartment barefoot, my husband’s feet were visibly dirty.

Home away from home in Cairns.
Pros:

It was conveniently located and the building was really lovely with lush courtyards and a pool area. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.
