Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The moment we walked into this hotel, we were disgusted. Everything we saw online about it was a lie. The pictures were taken to make it look nice, but it is a complete pile of crap. There was garbage everywhere, on the ground outside instead of in the bin, all throughout the hallways; paint was peeling off the walls, toilet handle was broken and no one came to fix it, phones don't work in the rooms, they don't have blankets on the beds and when asked for blankets, they gave old thin fleece sheets; got stuck in the elevator; the pools were filthy and the inside one wasn't even open; when trying to talk to staff about concerns, they seemed genuine but never addressed any concerns. Last, but certainly not least, the restaurant downstairs from the hotel, had black mold surrounding the air conditioner vents. We drove 7 hours to have our first family vacation and this was what we got, never again.

The room was still dirty when we checked in at 8pm. We found dirty towels and washcloths in the bathroom. The sheets were still dirty and we had to ask for new towels to change ourselves. The balcony door didn’t always open. We specifically made sure we had a tub to give our child a bath, however the faucet for the tub did not work. We could not get it to switch from the shower head to the faucet so it made giving our 18 month old a bath very difficult. The indoor pool was also closed which we specifically picked a hotel with for rainy days.

Tooooo hot. The AC was not working and it was about 100 degrees outside, therefore miserably hot inside.

The property is in need of a deep cleaning and upgrades.

It was dirty, needed many repairs, the beds were uncomfortable & when they charged me for taxes on site they charged my card twice. I talked to the desk the next day & they said "we'll fix it by removing those 2 & recharging just one." This resulted in three $41.40 charges coming out of my bank which I'm still waiting to be resolved 7 days later.

Room had old ripped curtains, could not get garbage bags and only 1 small garbage receptacle. No ice bucket and they were not able to provide one. Hotel property inside was not well maintained. Very disappointing for the price.

It seems to have gone way downhill since it was Best Western. It was pretty disappointing for the cost. It was shabby and run down looking on the inside. The halls, walls, and doors were just dirty and everything needed a detailed cleaning. There were no towels or washcloths in my room and the AC was not very good. The hall and outside lights didn’t come on till after dark making it feel unsafe. There were overflowing dumpsters with many bags of trash all around it in plain view of guests. The halls had bags of trash sitting outside of rooms and dirty towels just thrown in the halls. They locked my keys at 930 when checkout was at 11 and locked me out my room while trying to pack my car. It was just not good. Just stay somewhere else.

The whole hotel was kind of run down looking. The mirrors and windows had not been cleaned, the beds were very hard, the coffee maker in the room didnt work. There were only a few luggage trolleys and they never seemed to be near the lobby.
