I liked the rooms they were spacious and the beds were comfy. Great amenities in the room as well. Would love to go during long stays or in the winter.
Rooms are far from the pool. Super crowded, loud because of location and I really didn't feel like I was in Tahoe. Felt more like a resort.
My family and I stayed at the Marriott’s Timberline Lodge for a week. This is our second visit at the resort. The first time we were evacuated after 4 nights due to the fires close by.
We were in rooms 6535 (studio) & 6537 (1 bedroom with a full kitchen) in the Sierra Building on the 5th floor which is in the main building. This made it a 2 bedroom lock-off. Our rooms faced the pool and we never heard any pool noise. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean. The kitchen has everything and more to cook in the room or at the grills. Although, a blender would be nice to have.
There is a great option to text the front desk if you need housekeeping, maintenance or ask any other questions. Someone always got back to me right away. Valet parking is $45/day for non-owners (pricey) and it’s 24/7 access. Parking is included for Marriott owners. To get our car, we just had to text the valet 15 minutes before we wanted the car and it was always parked at the entrance. They will charge your car for $15. Everyone who worked at the resort was very friendly and helpful.
I was disappointed to hear that a room tidy isn’t included in a week stay here. Now it’s only for a 9 night stay or longer. We did use the texting feature to get what we needed.
The pool and hot tub are a great place to hang out during the day or evening. The hot tubs are super hot though. It would be nice if they were a few degrees cooler. There are plenty of towels, loungers and umbrellas while we were there. There are many grills surrounding the pool as well as a splash pad, ping pong tables and a fire pit. In the main building, there is a kid’s lounge, yoga/pilates room where classes are offered and a gym. Laundry rooms are in the hallways if you have a studio.
There is a resort activity list for the week. Bingo is very popular. It’s great that the resort is located in Heavenly Village which offers many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Easy access out the back resort gate.
Check out is precisely by 10:00am and check-in should start at 4:00pm. We arrived at 4:10pm and our 1 bedroom unit wasn’t ready but we could go into the studio. It was then ready within the half hour.
There is a Safeway and Whole Foods for your grocery shopping needs. If you are a Marriott owner, ask the concierge for your 10% off card for various restaurants.
Overall we had a great stay at the resort!
LOVE Lake Tahoe and the Marriott Timber Lodge is a beautiful property in an amazing location. We've been to Lake Tahoe multiple times, in the summer to enjoy incredible hiking nearby. This location can't be beat, it's right beside the Heavenly Village gondola, plus within walking distance (or a super short drive) to the Van Sickle State park . The villas are great for both couples and a family and the activities throughout the week are a nice bonus.

We had roaches in our shower
I am writing to formally document a deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience during a recent session with your representative, Alex. What began as a positive and well‑structured presentation quickly deteriorated into behavior that was both inappropriate and inconsistent with the Marriott brand.
At the outset, Alex emphasized several points intended to build trust, including his multi‑generational family involvement with Marriott, the notion that a sale today had no bearing on his personal life, and his commitment to upholding Marriott’s values. Unfortunately, once it became clear that we were not interested in purchasing, his demeanor changed abruptly.
Two incidents in particular were unacceptable:
• When AJ arrived to assist with closing, I complimented AJ on the quality of Alex’s presentation. As Alex walked past me in the small office, he responded with a snarky and unprofessional “I KNOW I DID,” which was entirely out of line.
• At the conclusion of the session, I extended my hand to thank him. Instead of acknowledging the gesture, Alex turned away and walked off in front of other Marriott employees, refusing to shake my hand.
This conduct reflects a concerning lack of emotional intelligence and raises serious questions about whether Alex is fit to represent Marriott in a customer‑facing capacity. His behavior was disrespectful, dismissive, and wholly inconsistent with the standards I have come to expect from Marriott.
As a long‑time Titanium member, this experience was unacceptable. We will not return to this property, and this interaction has caused us to reconsider any future interest in Marriott vacation ownership offerings.
I expect this matter to be reviewed seriously, as no customer, especially one with a long history of loyalty, should be subjected to this type of treatment.
Our family had another absolutely incredible stay! From the moment we arrived, everything was fantastic. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa room and it was perfect. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and made for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The large kitchen had a full size oven, stove, refrigerator, and included cutlery, plates, cups... everything you need! The location truly couldn't be better—close to everything while still feeling like the perfect escape.
One highlight you definitely shouldn't miss is the pool area. Even though the weather was a bit chilly during our visit, the heated pools made it easy to jump right in and enjoy. The atmosphere was relaxing, fun, and one of our favorite parts of the trip.
What keeps bringing us back, though, is the consistently outstanding experience. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, making us feel right at home throughout our stay.
This was our second year in a row visiting, and it only confirmed why we love this place so much. We're already counting down the days until we return next year!
Close to downtown and ski lift, and the lake is a short distance as well。
California is expensive
