Stunning food amazing & clean!

The grounds were amazing.
Our room was over looking the bin area, was extremely and unbearably hot, and no air circulating in room at all.
Bins emptied early morning and beer barrels moved around!
Lovely selection of meals at breakfast and dinner with efficient service. Excellent setting in picturesque grounds with a choice of additional activities for those who wanted them. Staff were freindly and helpful. All in all a lovely relaxing holiday at a beautiful location and hotel.
Lovely property and grounds, comfy room and clean, relaxing spa facility. Lots of different spaces to get food and drink. Very good breakfast. We had an issue with our room on check in and this was dealt with very promptly. Room was nice and had what we needed for our stay.
Staff did not welcome us well at check-in. We were told to follow signs to the car park but no mention of next steps e.g. where reception was or where our room was, when we could gain access and what we could do in the meantime. When we enquired at reception we were given very vague directions to our room. We weren't informed we could use the spa or where it was and we asked we were told 'in that direction' when in fact the route was long and not very well signed. They didn't check or remind us about dinner or breakfast reservation, no mention of check out time or procedure. Would had appreciated a welcome talk through of the facilities and activities on offer, a map, clear directions to our room, reminder of our breakfast reservation i had made online and being shown where to go for that, details of checkout, information about any walks in the grounds, being told where the bar/lounge areas were.
We found the staff polite but they seemed to assume we knew all about the hotel, how things worked and where things were etc. The lady on reception in the spa was more accommodating , asked if we knew where to go etc. This was very helpful and highlighted even more what was lacking from the staff who greeted us at the entrance and when we approached them at reception.
The room was very hot due to the weather, no fan was offered.
Well presented and the restaurants were great with a good choice of food, drinks well priced and entertainment was fantastic
Nothing all good
It's a fabulous location set among some beautiful scenery. It has old world opulent charm whilst offering modern comforts.
I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Upon arrival, there were 3 dead moths lying on the bedroom carpet; 1 of the coffee mugs was clearly dirty which I had to wash myself and there was a distinct lack of soap products for the bathroom. I tried to ring the reception several times but never got through and then when I went downstairs to speak with them, they were closed. Not the level of service I expected from such an establishment and especially for the price I paid.
Food was very good and the wine waiter very helpful.
The setting was good and the main hall attractive
The room was very small; there was only one robe and the distance to facilities quite long. It felt like being on a cruise ship in the country and I don't think we thought it was going to be like that; the golf was annoying too.
We thought it was a bespoke location;
staff were not very helpful and seemed to think we knew it all already

Need to book dinner reservation early or no choice of dining venue and have to eat where there is a space.
The driveway
The staff were rude. Useless. Our room was filthy on check in, beds not made, dirt everywhere! Bins full, fouled towels left on floor. Dirty cups in sink. No air con. Smelt bad. Manger not interested. Had to walk out. Worst hotel ever. Never stay here.. I wouldn’t even put a dog in the room. Reception male very rude, inexperienced.. no people skills. Foreign manager even worse.. kept waiting over 1.5h after checking to clean room, still not done. No update. I recommend to stay well clear!
