Exceptional experience at Taj Samudra, Colombo
Pros:

I stayed at Taj Samudra in March 2026 for 4 days. I have been patronizing Taj group of hotels and they keep raising their service bar every time. My stay at Taj Samudra was exceptional, largely thanks to the outstanding hospitality and personal care extended to me by the Hotel Manager Mr Irshad. His personal touch, attentiveness, and genuine care made me feel incredibly welcome. He truly went above and beyond to ensure a flawless experience. Knowing that I am a wildlife photographer, Irshad and his team had made a surprise welcome which included wildlife pictures taken by me in a chocolate frame along with nuts (see picture). It was the heart touching moment and I am truly grateful to Irshad and his team for this. I will sure stay at this beautiful hotel in my next visit to Colombo, which is situated in an excellent location, overlooking the ocean

Pros:

La taille de la chambre, la qualité de la literie, la vue mer, la grande piscine.

Cons:

Humidité dans la chambre, surtout dans les placards. Le linge était humide.
Il serait appréciable d’avoir de quoi étendre les maillots de bain.

Luxurious and Elegant Hotels Experience

One of the Luxurious and Elegant Hotels in Colombo with rich culture. We often have our overseas Business Meetings at Taj Samudra, all my Chinese clients had a memorable time.

A special mention goes to Anushka from the Concierge team, whose exceptional service truly made my stay memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of, always greeting guests with a warm smile and a willingness to help. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality are a true credit to the hotel

Taj Samudra - an honest review
Pros:

While Taj Samudra continues to impress with its excellent location, warm hospitality, and courteous staff, I found the room quality to be below the expectations associated with the Taj brand. The room felt dated, and the furnishings, fixtures, and overall upkeep could benefit from a comprehensive refresh.
The Sales staff including Mr. Shibu, Ms. Dilusha and Ms. Samudra made all the extra efforts that more or less covered for the shortcomings in the rooms. Thanks to their support, we were able to have a very successful conference.

Taj with its heritage and it’s there. Beautiful!
Pros:

I booked for one night. I booked for ocean view and at time of my check in they had no availability of ocean view so they upgrade me to junior suite with ocean view.
Hotel is placed at a best place in the Colombo and next to see and all the happening.’
Staff at reception as well others were very friendly.
