Good location, easy parking, friendly staff
We booked a historic room where the bed was very comfortable but the room was end of the corridor, through the restaurant …
Breakfast provision
This property was the only one available in town for the dates we were staying in Seward. The,property did have the 1 parking space as advertised.
We booked two rooms for two nights, our room was #8 in the historic section. The room is small with two double beds on what looked like camp frames. There is no private bathroom, and we knew that, but the bathrooms were not being kept up, towels left on the floor (? Why no hamper), and an unclean shower. And to make things worse, the restrooms are next to and used by staff and restaurant guests.
Housekeeping didn’t refill the coffee pods in the room. The metal key to the room is difficult to use and turn the doorknob, and at times depending on how the key is turned, the deadbolt stays open, and door would lock- one had to manually turn the deadbolt lever to release it so that the door will lock.
On the first evening I turned the hot water handle on the room sink and there was NO water. I called the front desk, maintenance guy came up and suspected the valve under the sink had failed, and would fix it in ten am on Day #2. When we returned to the room on the eve of Day 2, still no hot water, and no message or note. On check out, I asked the Maintenance man for an update, and he said several rooms didn’t have hot water and the repairs would be complex. I asked for and received vouchers for breakfast at the sister hotel restaurant which was appreciated. The hotel really needs to address this basic room issue.
Zápach v prveh noci, hluk, a hlavne zieľané toslety a sprchy s celou chodbou.

Frst night was hirrible
Great location ,room with two beds, free parking
Not as clean as I would like, no breakfast
A localização.
I was very impressed from the moment we arrived. Michael (at the front desk) was outstanding. Our room was recently updated, spacious and clean. The location was wonderful and within walking distance g distance of several dining options. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
Lage im Ort, nicht im Hafengebiet. Transport zum Bahnhof ist inklusive.
Sehr teuer, kein Frühstück und das Frühstück Im Partnerhotel für 24$ ist schlecht.
The reception desk was welcoming, and we were able to change rooms for the remaining part of our stay. Also, thanks to the care taken by that staff, parking was available despite our arriving on a day with massive crowds in Seward.
The "historic wing" of the hotel is quite old by Alaskan standards. Of course, one needs to be realistic about shared bathrooms and the like that would have been normal when it was built. However, the second floor has a disturbingly musty smell. This was much less true on the first floor of that wing.
Good location, walkable to restaurants and marina, easy parking
We stayed in the new/renovated part of the building. Shower drain was clogged on arrival, dirt in all the corners of the bathroom, bad soundproofing on the windows so you can hear cars and people talking outside all night, unpleasant front staff. Beds were soft, which is comfortable for some in our party but very uncomfortable for those in the party with back issues.
I stayed at the Hotel Seward expecting that a $500-a-night rate - steep, though not exorbitant for the area - would come with the basics. It didn't. If you're considering the Hotel Seward, go in knowing you'll be paying a premium rate for a highly stripped-down experience. I'd look elsewhere.
The single most surprising thing: they provide no housekeeping services whatsoever. No daily tidy, no fresh towels, nothing. Even budget hotels offer housekeeping, so to find it entirely absent at this price point was completely baffling.
My "renovated" room was on the ground floor with what the listing might generously call a view - of the parking lot. People walked past my window and cars pulled in and out just feet from my door, so privacy and quiet were in short supply.
Moreover, the room relied on 80's baseboard heating. For the money, I expected far more comfort and far more service than I got.
Lastly, zero breakfast of any kind included. Nothing.
I stayed at the Hotel 360 on the harbor for the same price and it was GORGEOUS, with all the amenities (great breakfast, housekeeping, super friendly staff, an unbelievable view, actually renovated rooms, etc.). Stay far away from Hotel Seward.
Old property with odds smell in our room and Cost $350 per night.
The desk staff at the hotel went out of their way to provide excellent service and help when we needed it. Very hard workers and pleasant in dealing with the public.
The price was expensive, but we understand that it is a seasonal business.
The location and proximity to various things in Seward.
The historical section of the hotel is very tight for even two people per room, the advertised queen bed is most likely a double bed. The room thermostat was difficult to adjust and we had to request to get the room serviced. According to the staff, new section is better with respect to amenities. I know better for future. Walls were thin, so it was noisy even though other guests weren’t particularly loud. Peeling wallpaper, chipped shower made it feel like the hotel was using the word historical to excuse poor maintenance.
Hotel needs to be renovated…. Just because you add historical to your hotel room doesn’t make it any less run down and gross. Hotel room was a mattress on a plastic box spring…. How are there shared bathrooms in a hotel that costs $400 a night. Thankfully we didn’t stay in one but would not stay again. 1/10 nice people but knock the hotel down…. Stay away
An atmospheric hotel with stuffed animals on the ground floor and a small restaurant. I had a room with a shared bathroom, but it had a sink, which was convenient.
