Older hotel, good location
Pros:

The hotel had a historic feel and decor. Staff were receptive to our concerns.

Cons:

bedroom was clean and comfortable, but thin walls as you can hear noise in adjoining rooms. The shared bathrooms need attention: mold in the shower stalls, used towels on floor, and peeling wallpaper.

The location is definitely the best thing about this hotel - it’s absolutely perfect.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our experience with the room was quite different. It felt very old and outdated, and there was noticeable dust that hadn’t been cleaned properly. The room was small and uncomfortable with the sink located right next to the bed.

We chose a room with a private bathroom, but the bathroom also had a door leading to another guest room, which felt very unusual and uncomfortable. It seems like the hotel may have both newer and older rooms, and unfortunately, we ended up in one of the older ones. So I want to make it clear that this review may not reflect the entire hotel.

There were also no proper curtains, so sleeping in would have been almost impossible because of the daylight. The combination of the small space and old, dark interior made the room feel quite gloomy.

The staff were polite, although not particularly warm or friendly.

Overall, I think the hotel has a lot of potential, especially because of its excellent location, but our particular room really needs updating and better cleaning.

Pros:

Good location and easy parking. Older hotel renovated and updated nicely. Very clean. Staff, especially Sue, was helpful. Maintenance took care of heating issue within minutes of my request. They also stored my travel ice sheets in a freezer at the sister hotel because the refrigerator in my room didn’t have a freezer.

Cons:

No breakfast and no freezer in room refrigerator. Everything else great.

Very happy with our choice to stay here before our Viking cruise.
Pros:

Room was nice and bed was comfortable. Loved the nice surprise of finding out the hotel would arrange to have our luggage transported(at no charge!) to our Viking cruise ship while we were out on an all day excursion. This was so helpful and appreciated.

A Hostel, not a Hotel.
Pros:

It was centrally located in Seward.

Cons:

Being surprised to learn that our "historic" room shared two bathrooms with up to 40 other guests. You don't get your own bathroom! Stay somewhere else!
