Location was good, bed comfortable, good hot shower.
Common areas not vacuumed for days - bits of paper scattered down hallways and stairs really detracted from the place. Front desk staff a mixed bad - one very helpful and one extremely surly and unhelpful.
The location.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
I stayed in the Historic Wing. The room was extremely small and had almost no ventilation. Both the room and the hallway had a persistent foul odor. To make matters worse, the window overlooked what appeared to be a smelly drainage ditch, so opening the window only made the smell even worse. There was simply no way to get fresh air into the room.
The shared bathroom was equally disappointing. It was poorly maintained, located far from the room, and had to be shared with restaurant patrons passing through the public area. The shower area didn’t even have a bin or basket for used towels, which reflects a surprising lack of basic housekeeping.
The staff were another major disappointment. With the exception of one young employee who was friendly and genuinely helpful, the rest of the staff seemed unprofessional and incompetent. One older staff member actually watched me carrying my luggage toward the exit and then shut the front door right in front of me without offering any assistance or even basic courtesy.
Overall, this was an awful experience from start to finish. I would not stay here again, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location can’t be beat we had just gotten off our cruise ship and didn’t have plans to rent a car My husband is somewhat disabled and unable to walk long distances Hotels location was ideal for access to the main part of town for eating and shopping Very close walk to catch shuttle to small boat harbor area for more shopping and eating
It is dated but that was expected as it is a historic hotel It smelled a bit musty but we were satisfied with its cleanliness
Excellent staff service...very efficient and professional.
AC would have been nice, or at least a fan.
The Historic room had small rooms with no views and a small bathroom. Definitely not worth the price.
Every member of staff we met was absolutely lovely! They definitely went above and beyond for us - especially as my Mum wasn't well when we arrived. They couldn't have been more kind or more attentive. Thank you so much to Kendall Clark and the reception and house keeping staff.
Friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms, excellent location!
It is a mix of traditional values and modern facilities
It was clean, in a good location, staff was great, very accommodating
No AC units which probably isn’t an issue but it was WARM when we were there
Nettes Hotel, 30 Minuten vom Hafen entfernt
Very nice room with great view and location. Clean and friendly.
Staff gave mixed messages about shuttle services.
The staff is outstanding. Sue at the front desk is not just friendly...she's extremely helpful!
We booked a two day stay but had our flight from SC canceled. I asked for a refund for one day a few days prior to our visit and was refused.
Central location, walking distance to bars/restaurants and docks. It's a beautiful property with a historic wing and a restaurant.
When I checked in the room, I had no water at all. Then it started coming out all yellow with no pressure. It's extremely noisy and I could hear all my neighbors and people walking down the hall. Limited parking available. They lock the front door for the night, and my key didn't work to open it, so I was extremely lucky that a guest opened the door for me from the outside. Otherwise I'd be standing alone outside at midnight. I know that it is a historic property, but I didn't feel like it was worth the money I paid.
Hotel Seward is in a wonderful location. The beds are comfortable and the room we stayed in was very spacious with views of the bay. The hotel is well maintained and clean and the customer service is stellar. Everyone we encountered from Paulette who helped with our reservation and gave wonderful recommendations to Sandy who checked us in, to Sue (who might actually live here) went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed including everything from extra pillows to recommendations for activities, places to eat, shuttles and so much more. The atmosphere was warm and hospitable and my husband, Mom and 2 boys would stay again in a heartbeat.
