At home at RIVAL, again
Pros:

My stay at Rival in June 2026 was excellent, as always over the last 20 years.
It is amazing how the whole concept of the hotel has stayed the same while feeling fresh and ever so welcoming. Proof of this is the vivid mixture of guests,
business travelers, families, cool urbans and energetic retirees. All enjoying the absolute top breakfast buffet together.Long before sustainability became a crucial issue, Rival invented long lasting measure built furniture, adding softness with surrounding textiles in the spirit of intelligent Scandinavian design not looking to be "trendy".
Central at Rival is the warm welcoming, the sense of hospitality making you feel at home. There is nothing you can not ask for , and staff will do anything possible to make you feel happy.
The theatre, the bar, the taverna , the location right on Mariatorget give you an opportunity to be part of an exceptional day/night genuine Stockholm experience!

Pros:

Great hotel , lovely comfortable beds , great location, but most of all staff were excellent and couldn't have been more friendly, special mention to the night porter who was so nice and friendly complete gentleman.

Excellent hotel in Stockholm
Pros:

The room was very nice and clean, the staff was super helpful with all we needed (we went there with a 1 year old baby), the location was excellent.

Cons:

Breakfast could be a bit better, but it was ok overall.

Hidden Gem!!!
Pros:

The minute we arrived the reception staff was wonderful and very helpful throughout our stay. Our room was lovely and the bathroom had a terrific shower and lots of space for toiletries. Our room was on the same floor as the coffee/snack area and ice maker and it was very convenient but not noisy at all. Breakfast was wonderful as they not only had a hearty buffet but also offered made to order items and many were able to be prepared gluten free. We enjoyed the location of the hotel as there were many things to do in walking distance and lots of great restaurants nearby. We loved this hotel and will definitely return on our next visit to Stockholm.

Cons:

Nothing....Our stay was too short...wish we could have stayed longer!

A great stay.
Pros:

Enjoyed our stay at rival hotel we would certainly come back if we ever find ourselves in Stockholm we went and enjoyed the sites to see the Viking museum, the ABBA museum, and some of the other sites. Great job people you are the best.

Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at Rival and for the first time in my life got upgraded to the most amazing room with a terrace overlooking Mariatorget! Very friendly and helpful staff, great bar and restuarant but the number one highlight of this stay was the most amazing room on the top floor. I will defiitley stay at Rival every time I return to Stockholm ! A very special thanks to Malin at the reception!

Alles perfekt!
Pros:

Es war alles top. Das Personal überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch interessiert an unseren Unternehmungen und mit vielen Tipps geholfen. Das Frühstück liess keine Wünsche offen und man konnte es sehr lange geniessen. Stockholm mit übernachten im Hotel Rival kann ich nur empfehlen. Es liegt sehr zentral und man kommt zu Fuss in kürzester Zeit zu schönen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ich komme bestimmt wieder!

Stunning Stockholm Find in a Perfect Location
Pros:

This hotel is one of the best I've stayed in throughout my travels - and I've been to all 7 continents. Prior to arrival, the front desk staff answered my endless emails quickly and with kindness. Cecilia, Michelle, Malin, Maricka, Joel, Svedje, Andrea, Frida and Rickard continued to be outstanding upon arrival. Nothing was too much to ask including changing dinner reservations and even buying concert tickets as we unable to do it due to phone issues.

The room - the bed is unbelievably comfortable with 3 big, fluffy pillows. The bathroom is large with a standing shower (GREAT shower head) and a bathtub. Perfect lighting. There are sun blocking curtains which is key in the summer. We love the balcony room which was an upgrade - thank you! No noise at night - great sleeping!

The rooms are cleaned daily and the entire hotel is clean. The bar area is lovely and relaxing with soft lounge chairs. We enjoyed after dinner drinks. Their restaurant is great. We had breakfast daily of course (included in the price of the room) which included everything you could ask for - a la carte and buffet. Dinner was scrumptious and service outstanding.

Hotel Rival is in a perfect location - close to everything. We are walkers - so we walked everywhere -but there's a very close Metro station if you prefer.

Look no further! This is THE hotel in Stockholm.

Jätteskön säng bra att man fick röka på balkongen och till sist , inte dumt att ligga i badkaret och kolla på TV.

Excellent hotel in great location with terrific staff. Thank you Molly for your friendly service.
Pros:

Good size room. The hotel only has a small number of rooms. As a result the lift was never delayed, the staff weren’t hurried in dealing with you, nice bistro with good menu and outside bar service on the tables on the footpath. Also great location and one street back we ate meals in restaurants with very few tourists and mainly locals.
