Never got to stay. I was left to sleep rough on the streets of Sydney because I was broke.

APX Hotel Darling Harbour is an outright scam and Booking.com is complicit in duping unsuspecting guests into losing their whole accomodation payment through rorting cancellation fees and the unstated requirement for a $200 security deposit at check-in.
I booked and paid for a room through Booking.com and at check-in was told I had to pay a $200 security deposit. I did not have $200, so could not pay the security deposit and therefore the hotel would not check me in. They said I would have to cancel. I cancelled and lost the whole of the payment that I had made to Booking.com. I complained to Booking.com, who advised me that it was an issue with the hotel, not them. It was Booking.com that I paid, not the hotel.

Cons:

It should be made clear during the online booking process that a $200 security deposit is required and also that a cancellation fee is charged.

Served a purpose
Pros:

Have stayed there numerous times.
Location and spacious apartments

Cons:

Very tired. Needs work.
Bathrooms especially need grout cleaned up and mould removed - most importantly
Also improve bathroom ventilation
Apt 27 had faulty door lock - reported - and no internal security lock or chain!

My colleague Daniel Hays had 5th floor apartment and found fingernails behind the headboard of the lounge…gross!

This COULD have been perfect if the internet was better and if someone was available at reception.
Pros:

I liked how spacious it was and I liked the balcony.

Cons:

The internet was not great, it kept cutting out, very unreliable for work purposes. I also had to wait 20 minutes at reception before someone finally arrived
