I thought the staff were wonderful. Front desk was very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. Care was obviously taken to ensure the room and linens were clean.
Upon arrival the outside appeared very run down and uncared for. In need of a facelift. Inside the room the bathroom had no exhaust fan to remove moisture which has caused the paint to peel off.
Man muss in Badekleidung durchs ganze Hotel.
Staff was very nice and they actually had a functioning hot tub.
Don't think we didn't like anything
The rooms were spotless but the property was dated and the outside could be cleaned up.
Staff at reception were very efficient and welcoming.
We had one of the accessible rooms and the bathroom had a urine smell in it, but clean otherwise. Everything else in the room was clean.
Pool was great not too hot in the room the slide the kids enjoyed
The breakfast was horrible two days of cold boiled eggs when my kids prefer scrambled eggs and the sausage had no colour to them
Great location
Cleanliness
We have been staying here since it first opened and always been happy here. The front desk staff nice and cheerful and helpful. The housekeeping are great- doing a top notch job and always polite and smiling. We had a lovely lady called "Gurwinder" and she was such a lovely cheerful lady- great asset to Super 8 Truro. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Only thing that would be a wee bit better is better cereal selection as it was either Fruit Loops or Bran Flakes. Stayed at many Super 8's and they also had some muffins which were nice. We loved the pancakes that were available and the bananas.
People not watching their children. They were running all along hallway on A Saturday afternoon and also eveing but that is no reflection on the hotel- parents fault.
We landed on a Thursday night in Halifax, to drive to Cape Breton Island on Friday, so decided to stay a night in Truro. Boy, was this the best place we could have chosen! We're a family with 3 young children (5, 3 and 6 months old), and they had the perfect bedroom for us, with a comfy king bed and a bunk bed the big kids adored. Plus, we had asked for a crib for the baby that was perfectly set up in our bedroom (which is so rare for hotels to do even before you check in). Now, the highlight of the trip - and not just of this one night, the highlight of the entire trip - was the pool at this hotel. We went on the Friday morning, we had the entire pool to ourselves and the spinny slide is to die for, the kids absolutely adored it! I guess we always stayed at this type of hotels for convenience and price, but when there's a little detail that they excel at or surprise you, it should be acknowledged, and this place had many of such - the swimming pool, the nice staff that had the room all ready for us, and the perfect family bedroom. A lot of people complained about breakfast, but tbh, it had cereals, bread, pancakes, eggs, milk, coffee, tea, juice, and it was open from 6 to 10am, so nothing to complain about, really. And also, the location is a bit far from the cities, but it has a bunch of things close, like a Cineplex, a restaurant, and my husband was able to go for a 6k run around.
The location is far from Truro, so if you wanted to stay in the city centre or if you don't have a car, this is not the place, but it's less than 40 mins from Halifax airport, so it was perfect for us.
Location
Pool was not what we expected. Basically geared towards the water slide & not for people that would like to actually swim.
Room was very comfortable ! Breakfast was awesome! Dining staff were very kind and welcoming
Nothing!
Easy to find, good basic hotel, pool and hot tub an unexpected bonus.
