The view and the old guy at concierge.
1. The room was dirty. The floor was covered in black and brown dust, leaving a sticky, filthy residue on my feet when walking. While I understand that locations on a mountain can be dusty, the floors should not be sticky. Furthermore, none of the staff members removed their shoes when entering the room.
In the bathroom, they placed the hair conditioner at the hand washing sink instead of inside the shower area. It was very confusing and inconvenient
2. The staff service needs improvement. The young lady at reception was quite moody and emotionally unstable. During dinner, a staff member asked if we were finished after we had only been eating for 20 minutes. We had just paused for a moment to check our phones, and our cutlery was not crossed or placed in a way that indicated we were done. It felt rushed and unprofessional.
3. The food is not tasty.

Dreamcliff Mountain Resort is simply stunning. From the moment we arrived, the views over the Sri Lankan hill country and tea estates stopped us in our tracks — genuinely one of the most spectacular locations I’ve ever experienced in any hotel, anywhere in the world.
The huts are beautiful — spacious, characterful and incredibly well appointed, but the real showstopper is the balcony. Sitting out there with nothing but mountains, mist and tea estates stretching out as far as the eye can see is something we’ll never forget. It’s the kind of view that makes you stop mid-conversation and just stare.
The staff were wonderfully warm and friendly throughout our stay — nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, making the most of fresh local ingredients with real care and attention.
I proposed to my partner here during our stay, and the hotel team kindly offered to help set things up. In the end, the balcony itself proved to be the most perfect and intimate setting I could have asked for — even better than I’d imagined. It was a moment we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives, and Dreamcliff provided the most magical backdrop for it.

Amazing location and views from the rooms and pool. Recommend booking a king room as I believe the view is stunning. Restaurant is good enough, service excellent.
Some small things were a bit strange, for instance the breakfast that is included was served to the table, yet when I asked for a napkin or small bag to take the rest of the pastries this was “not allowed”. Which is a pity because this food must for sure be wasted then. If it was a buffet, I would understand but in this way it was a bit disappointing. Overall the food at the restaurant was only ok.
The resort is beautiful. And the view awe inspiring The food was really average, very disappointing. Staff not trained well. Said food was gluten free. It had soy sauce in it. Brought gf bread to table in a basket filled with other normal breads so clearly had no idea about cross contamination . Wait staff were either overbearing or underwhelming: our worst stay in Sri Lanka, which is a pity because the location and natural beauty of the area is breathtaking.
Absolutely stunning grounds and views. The pool was a delight and the food was fantastic. Very attentive and welcoming staff. This place felt like a dream indeed!

La vue est juste á couper le souffle, avec un 180 sur les montagnes. La piscine á débordement est juste sublime et bonne surprise très belle vue également des petits bungalows. Le personnel est aux petits soins et très accueillant.
Je recommande si vous voulez une vue imprenable sur les montagnes.
Cependant la nourriture n'est pas la meilleure que nous avons mangé et le prix un peu cher pour la qualité. Le petit dej était bien et copieux par contre.

In our room the bath room was not totaly disconnected from the bed room (meaning the wall Between them didnt go all the way to the ceiling) which felt very awkward. Also food is pricey for Sri Lanka. Location is 20 min tuktuk ride from Haputale.

לקחנו חדר עם ג׳קוזי והוא לא עבד בלילה הראשון, אבל נתנו לנו הנחה על הלילה השני. המלון אכן רחוק כשעה מאלה אבל עבורנו זה היה יתרון

Tuve un problema en mi rodilla pedí una habitación sin tantas escaleras y para cambiarme de habitación me quisieron cobrar una diferencia teniendo encuentra que éramos los únicos huéspedes en todo el hotel
Everything was just perfect. Beautiful, clean room with breathing views. Delicious food with generous portions. Amazing pool overlooking the misty hills. And above all: the most kind, friendly staff. Everyone was so attentive and made us feel so special. We loved being in that resort, thank you for everything.
