Just got back from an incredible trip with my husband— one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! The hotel was beautiful, the amenities were incredible, and the concierge (shoutout to Bailey and Elizabeth!) were wonderful! Their guidance and expertise were unmatched and helped create the perfect experience. I highly recommend and can’t wait to plan my next trip back!
What a fun day of sunshine, connection, and laughter, hanging with four of my best gal pals! We enjoyed excellent food and drink service from Kaitlin and Gerard and I had a fabulous deep tissue massage from Rosa! Good times, good memories 👏🏻💕☀️
I booked after asking about using the spa if my room wasn't ready, and I was told that I could. Check in was at 4:00 and I needed to be at a 5:00 wedding and if necessary, I'd get ready in the spa. However, the front desk (Desmond?), after looking at the computer and/or making calls, repeatedly told me it would be "just 15 minutes", "just a few more minutes", etc. TELL ME THE TRUTH please. I arrived around 1:30 and with hours to go, I could have spent time in the spa. Instead, the Spa was nice enough to give me a half hour in their facility when I gave up on the front desk. I traipsed around everywhere - luggage left with the car, luggage transferred to the front desk, luggage transfer to the spa, ... Iuggage back to the front desk. (I traipsed to my room to meet an "inspector" because the front desk told me that they were just waiting for it to be "inspected". The inspector did not want to deviate from his route so back to the front desk and then the spa. WHAT A MESS. Surely not worth the over $700 paid. And BTW, your beds are too high for safety. You really should give me some sort of credit. I would have been happier at a Motel 6 that had empathy. NEVER AGAIN would I come here expecting the ability to use the spa before my room is ready.
Great space! However, I had to get out of the big pool in the back, by the hot tub because I saw floating hair & detritus ALL OVER the pool surface. I went around the perimeter inside & could not escape. Totally grossed me out. Perhaps clean the pools more regularly, especially when there are more people?
The spa is very rundown. The lounges are mostly reserved for hotel guests and even though I paid $59 in addition to a large fee ;$350) for my very mediocre facial, I found myself on the most uncomfortable lounge I've ever met. There is traffic noise all around the spa, and on this particular Sunday, for some reason horns were being honked for several hours. The hotel is in a lower end residential neighborhood --not what you usually think of when you think of Sonoma. My trip inside the hotel itself revealed that the entire facility is rundown, and pretty tacky. My sandwich and lemonade served at the spa for lunch cost $48. i would not recommend this for anyone. There are much better places and I would not have gone except that Claude recommended it for its hot spring mineral water. I have my doubts that that was even what was in those pools.
The cost for our suite was as expensive as Paris - but the service was good.
Room climate control was faulty and needed constant adjustment or simply turn off.
Fan didn’t work properly, bathroom light was failing and smoke alarm flashes red. Patio door was quite challenging.
Room service was very good. But the hotel has a litany of charges it adds to the already inflated cost - making it an undesirable choice.
Parking overnight and valet parking was also expensive - pretty sure parking on the street was safe.
This resort is not a 10...it is a 22. The hospitality was OUTRAGEOUS! From the servers to the drivers...I felt so important and so valued. Rooms were clean, food was delicious and BRICE treated us so special. There were 10 of us...my book club's annual vacation. We did read on the trip, but mostly...WE DRANK WINE! I have no words to express how GORGEOUS this place is at night! The lights, the firepits, the chocolate chips cookies! We loved this resort. I highly recommend this resort. I will go again...RIGHT THERE!
My Bookclub consisting of 10 well traveled women.traveled to Sonoma to for our annual trip. The resort did not receive the best reviews, but we took a chance because Costco Travel recommended. In short our experience was nothing short of outstanding. Service is paramount to any experience and the ENTIRE team payed attention to each detail. Brice and his team made our stay memorable. Alisha welcomed us graciously, Pablo always had a smile and was wet accommodating, Holly took great care of us for late night bites. Elizabeth, Kasey and Sebastian were all excellent setting up transportation, reservations at vineyards and restaurants. Craig and the Valet crew went over and above to deliver a birthday cake to a restaurant for us because it was a surprise for one of our Bookclub Members. The spa staff especially Mario and Kaitlyn were phenomenal.
Every interaction with staff was exceptional. Do yourself a favor and visit this resort. Lots of amenities together with attention to detail made our stay exceptional. 10/10
Everyone was so friendly! The service was amazing, the rooms, the food, all of the above. We couldn’t rave more about how amazing this hotel is!
Everything was wonderful.
My husband booked an appointment for my friend and I to go to the spa at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn for my birthday. She signed up for a massage, and I got a facial. This was quite a treat, and not something that we have done before. We both thoroughly enjoyed it!! Also, you have access to the various pools and saunas before and after your appointments. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with soothing music and fountains. It was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it!
Amazing experience. Jason at the bar, Sally - the hiking guide, Lynn the hostess with the mostess and Gerard at the pool all deserve a pat on the back for their warm hospitality. Love this hotel and my room - can’t sit to go back soon.
Historic spa and springs hotel that offers a wide variety of delicious food items. This is not your modern, loud and lively spot, but it doesn't pretend or advertise to be. Between the Spa, the Staff, food, and shuttles this was such a pleasant and relaxing stay.
We were greeted with hospitality from Bobby and Staff at the front desk, and the kitchen manager really went above and beyond for us every day at Santé. Visiting downtown Sonoma is a must with the shuttle, and take the recommendations of the concierge for food options nearby the Hotel.
We always try to eat memorable food items, and the Green Goddess crunch sandwich was up there. Would stay again. Its relaxing, and the spa is a huge selling point.
We heard that Sante was starting the Sunday Supper dinners and we wanted to be there on the first day. We started in the bar with special spritzes created by the bartender, Deb, which were delicious. Our group was seated promptly, and we ordered a bottle of Rose from Arnot Roberts that was amazing, the wine list is extensive, but the server was knowledgeable and able to recommend some great local offerings. We had been to Sante before, but the restaurant looks fresh and chic since the recent renovation. Sean Carscaden, one of our favorite local artists was playing a couple of tables away, the volume was perfect, we were able to have conversations without it being obtrusive. The courses came out "family-style", we never waited for anything but also did not feel rushed. We had a friend join as we were starting the second course, staff was accommodating and moved a table over and got her caught up on the previous course. Since we had seen Sean before, we knew some of his playlist and he allowed us to request some songs. We ordered a bottle of Syrah to have with our main course, and it was perfect. I wish we would have taken some pictures of the food, but we were having such a nice time talking, drinking and eating that it slipped our mind, that's when you know you are having a good dinner. Dessert was strawberry shortcake, totally seasonal from a local farm, paired with a beautiful dessert wine. Totally recommend the Sunday Supper experience, they even have valet parking, and you can sit out front at one of the firepits after dinner. Kudos to Chef Jen.
The Sonoma Fairmont is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very nice with many food selections and very kind servers. The spa amenities are excellent. We spent the day at the spa and used the spa pools, saunas and hot tub. My provider for both my services was Telisa who was amazing! We will definitely come back to this resort. Our room was very comfortable and spotless with nothing missing on a daily basis. If you’re looking g for a peaceful and relaxing resort, this is the place to visit.
Excellent and relaxing stay and the restaurant is terrific
very friendly staff and great spa and scenery
Hotel was excellent and the spa was very relaxing and the therapists were terrific
Beautiful grounds
Very good tasting food
Good massages
Very expensive
Signage around the place wasn’t enough
This was absolutely the best hotel experience we have ever had in our 34 years of marriage. From the beginning, when I contacted Elizabeth, the concierge, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. When we checked in, we had the same experience. Every single person from the valets to the housekeepers to the front desk all of them were exceptional. They were genuinely interested in our happiness and comfort and not just superficially.
The services that were offered were exceptional! The hike on Saturday with Sally was probably the highlight of our stay there. Our hike was at Jack London State Park and she was informative, engaging and so likable
The one minor issue we had with the room was rectified immediately. It was a rattling noise in the air conditioner.
The breakfast at the restaurant was exquisite. The Service was outstanding, but the food stood apart. Creative takes on breakfast (lemon cottage cheese pancakes) were incredible!
We highly recommend the Fairmont! We will go back!
We had an amazing wedding weekend experience. We thoroughly enjoyed and received great service at the restaurant (Sante), the spa, and from the event/catering department for the rehearsal dinner and welcome party. The bridal get ready suite worked out perfectly too. Our suites were super clean and comfortable and all the staff was friendly and professional. Deciding to book the SMI as our home base for this special milestone event was the best decision we made.
