Very nice boutique hotel close to the central station.

A quirky boutique hotel in a fantastic location. Located on the edge of China Town, we found there were plenty of places to eat and the area had both a safe and lively atmosphere at night for families. The hotel is conveniently located on the doorstep of central station from where the trams, canal cruises and metro can be caught when exploring. We personally caught the tram to the Museum Quarter however it would have be easily walkable had it not been a heatwave!

We stayed in a triple room which in my opinion was massive for a city hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and was serviced daily. The aesthetic of the hotel was appealing and could be seen in the decoration of the rooms as well as the hotel as a whole. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was exceptionally good. Some guests have commented about noise in some reviews however we stayed towards the back of the hotel (with a view of other buildings) and it was very quiet and were not disturbed by any other guests at all. The bathroom was a good size however the shower could be considered a little to dark. There is very limited wardrobe/hanging space however I assume this would not affect too many people if you were not staying many nights.

The hotel amenities were good for a city location. Breakfast was amazing with several dishes made fresh to order including pancakes and omelettes. As we had an early fight into Amsterdam and a late flight out, the luggage store was very convenient. The honesty bar was a nice touch and it was pleasant to play cards and talk to other guests and staff on the lounge/lobby on an evening. A shout out to Michael here who worked in the evening and seemed to remember most guests and what they had visited during the day.

The only negative about the hotel was the lifts which were out of order several times during our stay. This meant a rather perilous trek up or down very steep stairs. I'm sure it was just a brief maintenance issue during our stay and would not put me off staying here again or recommending the hotel to others.

I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Mai Amsterdam - we certainly had a great time here.

Honestly, we weren’t expecting 5* quality from this hotel, purely because it was so reasonably priced to say that it was located right by central station. However, this hotel has simply been AMAZING, rooms were lovely and clean, cleaners came in daily (if you wanted), that atmosphere in the hotel was beautiful, we read reviews saying that the walls were thin and staff weren’t very friendly but we had no bad experiences. Staff were lovely from checking in to checking out, the front desk is open 24/7 if there are any issues but we had none. Me and my partner have already recommended this hotel to family and friends. The only aspect we cannot comment on is the breakfast as we didn’t have any food during our stay but I’m sure it’s lovely.

Hotel molto caratteristico con stanza vista canale, molto spaziosa e estremamente pulita. Lo staff è stato sempre molto gentile e disponibile.

Jeg likte også at det var en «self check-in» maskin.
Personalet var hyggelige og hjelpsomme.
Hotellet hadde også en fin lokasjon i forhold til togstasjon og sentrum.
