Mold toilet, horrible room odor and retaliatory management

During our stay, we discovered mold inside the toilet, and the room had such an unpleasant odor that we had to open the windows. I brought these concerns to management’s attention and even showed them pictures of the mold. They acknowledged the issue and apologized.

What I find concerning is that more than two weeks after my stay, the hotel is now attempting to charge my deposit, despite its stated 48-hour policy for assessing damage-related charges. I was never informed of any damages or additional charges during that period.

Even more troubling, I was told that because I gave the hotel a one-star review, I am no longer welcome as a guest. The review was submitted after Booking.com asked me to rate my experience, and I simply shared what I experienced during my stay.

I believe customers have every right to provide honest feedback, especially when it involves health and sanitation concerns. Being told that I am no longer welcome because of my review, followed by an unexpected charge weeks later, raises serious concerns about possible retaliation.

Nice clean place with friendly staff.
Pros:

Everything is clean. Breakfast has slimmed down the options but will probably have more options when there are more people staying there again. We stay 9 times out of ten when visiting my mom.

Property used to have a waffle maker and my son and I were really enjoying that.

It was a nice hotel away from downtown and the hustle and bustle.
Pros:

It was comfortable and there was a bar and grill across the street, so we didn't have to get back in the car and the parking was free.

Cons:
