Location
The elevator was in a strange spot
From our very first stay over 8 years ago the absolute inviting scent when you enter the doors is fantastic... It is something that you remember the next and the next and the next time you enter the lobby.... The staff, rooms, location, quietness is perfect. This is why we do keep coming back every year for our little mini vacation to just get away... Keep up the fabulous work.... You get a 15 out 10 from us.....
Nothing !
Location, room, comfort, breakfast
Near family. We've enjoyed our stay here many times.
The breakfast person did a great job; she was very busy. Help with coffee would be great.
Kindness, and communication
Nothing was all unpleasant.
It was the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had at an accommodation. I wanted to get the logistics out of the way so we could just arrive and relax—the trip took nearly 12 hours—so I booked through the Booking app, which I always use. I paid for a room with two large beds, but when we arrived, the person greeting us was furious; they insisted we were supposed to pay at the property rather than online. I showed them my reservation confirmation email, but then they demanded to see the physical card I had used to pay. I told them I didn't have the physical card with me but had the email and all the reservation details. The card issue was just an excuse; the real problem was that we arrived half an hour late. Arriving late shouldn't have been an issue since the room was already paid for, but they had given our room to someone else. They claimed they were doing us a favor by offering a different room—not the one we had booked—and gave us one with just a single bed and a sofa bed that barely fit one person. Both the bed and the sofa were incredibly uncomfortable; the whole situation was awful. They gave us that terrible room for the same price I had paid for the double-bed room. That’s why I say it was a scam: they didn't give us the room because they no longer had it—they’d given it to someone else—yet they acted angry with us. 😡 It was so infuriating and disappointing; this was supposed to be a vacation, but they turned it into a horrible experience. My 9-year-old son kept saying the room was ugly; I had shown him the online photos of the room we paid for, and he kept saying it wasn't the same one—even a 9-year-old could sense how uncomfortable the situation was. If they didn't have the room, the fair thing to do would have been to refund our money, but our only options were to accept that room or lose the money entirely. With that money, we could have booked a much better place.
