You haven't added any cots.
You haven't added any extra beds.
Mostly new interiors (corridors looked a bit dated still with worn out carpet). Good breakfast buffet.
Service at the pool was terrible, up to 20 mins wait for a drink, especially when no free water was provided and you have to spend all day waiting for a drink.
The hotel itself looks nice
We had requested a high floor with a full sea view. When asked about bed configuration, we said we’d take whichever option gave the better view — the staff member then gave us the worst room available, claiming it was the only option. We refused it and spoke to another staff member, who was able to find us a high floor room with a much better view, so it clearly wasn’t the only option after all.
On checkout, we were told there was an extra 50 euro charge. When we questioned it, staff went to check and admitted it was a system error.
To add to this, we lost internet access for a full day during our stay.
Overall, the hotel has the potential for a good stay given the right room, but the billing errors and inconsistent service made the experience frustrating and left us questioning the accuracy of our final charges.
From the minute we arrived the staff gave us a warm welcome - greeted outside the main door by a cheery young man and the brought inside to check-in with Ivan. Another member of the team came with water and cold towels for us while taking our bags… this was pretty much the standard for the whole stay - staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help.
Decor-wise the hotel is of an exceptional standard. Lots of quirky, Italian 60s style design everywhere you look. The music is selected accordingly and adds to the cool vibe of the place.
Food at breakfast was a highlight - top quality, lots on offer, and always an available seat. Never crammed and always relaxed.
The poolside was fab - drinks can be ordered to your sunbed and there was never an issue trying to get a bed. Plenty available throughout the day. Access to the beach is quick and easy, a brilliant wee beach with a Kiosk which we made use of one afternoon!
For the room itself - we had a sea view suite as we were travelling with our 11 year old (its teen friendly and minimum age of 11 so no screaming kids!). The room was unbelievably good. Bright, spacious, huge balcony, excellent TV and clean. Air con was excellent too. Housekeeping was done in the morning and they offered a ‘turndown’ service at night too, so we would come back from our evening out and the room would be prepared for sleep.
All in, we got a very good deal on the suite and made the most of our time at Hotel Mongibello. I’d love to come back one day - maybe next year?
Prices of drinks and food are high, but perhaps to be expected.
The most complicated set of rules I've ever experiences in a hotel. Operations need to be improved.
Good decor but no quality .
This hotel does not deliver a five-star experience despite being marketed and priced as one.
Room Issues
From the start, there were problems with the room allocation. Despite requesting a room matching the booking photos, I was given one with a poor side view. The next day, I was promised an alternative, but upon returning, I had to repeat the entire situation to a different receptionist and was offered an even worse room.
A further issue arose with a fault in the room that was not repaired promptly. I waited approximately three hours before being moved, losing a significant part of my evening. Overall, the first two days were disrupted by room problems and delays.
Service
Communication between staff was poor, with each receptionist unaware of previous discussions. The attitude of some staff was dismissive and lacked the professionalism expected at this level.
The hotel attempted to compensate with a small bottle of wine, postcards, and a late check-out, but this did not adequately address the inconvenience caused.
Facilities and Location
The hotel shows signs of wear, with rooms, carpets, and communal areas below expected standards.
Although located by the sea, the immediate beachfront is pebbly and unsuitable for comfortable swimming. Guests seeking sandy beaches will need to travel elsewhere, likely requiring a rental car.
The hotel also failed to provide helpful recommendations for local attractions or activities.
Additionally, the sale of low-cost day passes led to overcrowding at the pool, making it difficult for paying guests to enjoy the facilities.
Conclusion
This hotel falls short in room quality, service, and overall guest experience. Combined with its inconvenient beach location and overcrowded facilities, it does not justify its price. I would not recommend staying here and would choose a different option in Ibiza.
quite place
everything was perfect
Location was great. Staff were lovely
The loss of electricity, air conditioning and/or water on 3 out of 7 nights and the management’s absolute refusal to offer compensation.
Very clean offered a calm relaxing environment. There were a good number of staff who were very attentive which made for a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
I thought the Italian restaurant was very expensive for what it was
