Amazing Stay
Pros:

Loved it, clean and nice sized room, spectacular view of the lake, the front desk was especially friendly. Spoke to Marissa after 10pm and had great experience booking! The location was outstanding, looking forward to visiting again soon. The property was so nice for my kids, open spaces and clean all over.

Perfect 4th of July Weekend with Spectacular Lake Views!
Pros:

We just got back from a 4th of July weekend at Fort William Henry Hotel and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the premium section of the building, which put us right on the lake with two queen beds — and the views did not disappoint. Three nights in a row we had a front-row seat to the fireworks right from our room. They were absolutely spectacular, and getting to watch them without fighting crowds or traffic made the whole weekend feel effortless.

One small downside — the premium section doesn't have an elevator, so hauling luggage up the flight of stairs was a bit of a workout. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be prepared for if you're packing heavy or traveling with a lot of bags.

Housekeeping was excellent — she came by every day to refresh our towels and empty the trash, and everything always felt clean and taken care of. Front desk service was also a highlight; Careena in particular was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and made check-in and any questions we had a breeze.

The pool area was a big hit with the kids, and the location can't be beat — just a short walk into the village of Lake George, where you've got the arcade, rides, ice cream, mini golf, and even the Minne Ha Ha steamboat all within walking distance. Having all of that so close by made it easy to fill our days without ever needing to drive anywhere.

Overall, a great, centrally located hotel with unbeatable fireworks views for the holiday weekend. We'd definitely stay here again!

Disappointing Anniversary Stay
Pros:

We arrived for one night and it was our wedding anniversary. I booked well in advance and let them know this was a special night for us and booked the restaurant and asked if we could reserve a table on the patio to celebrate. The hotel was tired and seemed run down, the room was basic, the service staff were lovely however, the bar selections were limited and when we arrived for our anniversary dinner, they had made no note of it, and said sorry we gave away the last outdoor table they made zero effort for us at all. Food was terrible and service slow and after all of that not even a dessert to say Happy Anniversary. No extra effort at all. Won't be back again now had planned a longer trip this fall.

Be aware part of this place is a motel and not a hotel so be wary of the *special*
Pros:

Be aware that there's a hotel and a motel part to this place. The Mountain View rooms are basically a motel without an elevator. Not worth the cost for a motel. The pictures don't make that clear.

Beautiful place to stay with a few road bumps
Pros:

Overall this place looks beautiful. We were invited to a wedding which reserved a large amount of rooms at this facility. The wedding started at 4 PM and we arrived 11 AM and was rejected to check into our room. We waited at their facility until 3 PM when they finally got us in an before their wedding started. I pleaded with the staff that when a wedding is at their facility, wedding guest should be allowed to check in early so they can ready for the event! I understand their check-in was at 4 PM but when they accept wedding events they have to understand the guest need to check in the wedding! This seems like common sense to me especially when checkout is at 11 AM. We had a few small issues like a plug toilet which was big deal and the staff was great at fixing it and under five minutes. There was no soap in the bathroom and I was forced to the soap in the shower. There was no fan in the bathroom and the windows and mirrors fogged up terribly. Not a huge deal but super annoying for a Stay.
Another thing that kind of blows my mind as there was not a single USB port charging device in the room! The year is 206 and everybody needs these. I have found these that many low hotels as complementary devices. The power strip on our stand was faulty so we to plug our USB charging port into the wall across the room which was inconvenient at best.
I’m trying to be honest here and overall our day was good with a few bumps in the road.
I would also like to say that Christine at the front desk did her best to accommodate us and she deserves an A+.
The ground staff that Help unplugged the toilet also receives an A+ as they were professional, quick and courteous.
The room could have been a little cleaner but was not terrible.
The air-conditioning in the room was sufficient but not overwhelming.
The prices of the drinks at the outside bar were very high at $15 a drink for a simple piña colada you would think guest pricing would be more affordable.
Almost $70 for four drinks
You asked for feedback so I am giving it in full transparency

Lake George million dollar view
Pros:

The million dollar view from this hotel is worth the stay. I stayed in what was called a “grand” room in the main hotel. It was a very big room, very clean and had fabulous beds. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. House keeping was extra but they did pick up the trash and exchange towels every day. The hotel is attached to the Fort and it was easy to just walk over and do a quick tour, which was fun. The pool is nice and big, there is an outside bar close by. They charge to use the fire pits at night, so we didn’t bother. It’s a quick walk down their back steps and you are at Canada street. Very convenient to the boat tours, beach and shopping. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. We were there for a wedding and it was a very nice event.

Great staff and location at an awesome hotel in the village of Lake George.
Pros:

Our stay was awesome. The room and service were excellent. Special call out to Christy the front desk supervisor and Andrew the hotel manager who went above and beyond to make our visit a great experience. We will definitely be back next year. This was our 6th annual trip with my wife and grand daughter. You can’t ask for a better location. Thanks again to the staff at Fort William Henry for making us feel right at home.

Ruined anniversary stay
Pros:

My experience started off on the wrong foot from the moment I called to book. I received a gift certificate to the hotel. There was no where on the website to input the payment information. I called the hotel to book a reservation. The attendant, tried to get me to upgrade to a room in the new main building. I asked if there was any discounts or promos going on as I wanted this to be a night out using a gift certificate, not my credit card. She said she was unable to offer us an upgrade without charging for it. (Although there were plenty of rooms available.)

Upon arrival, there were 3 staff members checking people in. All were unpleasant and wait time was excessive. I was told I would be charged a $50 room deposit fee, standard to most stays. Little did I know that they billed my credit card for the entire stay and now have to wait for a refund. The staff did not go over any amenities or even let me know where my room was located. I had to figure that out and where to park myself.

When we parked and walked up to our room, there were a group of people directly next to us partying and smoking cigars all night long. It was our anniversary and we were looking for a quiet night away from the kids. They told us to join them which made it uncomfortable to even sit outside and watch the sun set together. They were up until the middle of the night making noise, laughing, smoking, and drinking. It was the worst experience I have had in years. There was no security to tell the people to keep their volume down. This stay ruined our 25 year anniversary. Awful experience.

Beautiful property
Pros:

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in the smaller of the three options, the motel. The rooms were clean, the property and landscape is just breathtaking. Location is ideal and central to everything in town.Would definitely stay again the next time I’m in that area.

We don't stay anywhere else!
Pros:

We got married at the Fort William Henry many years ago, and we continue to go there 2 or 3 times a year. The entire hotel has been redone in the recent past, and it is beautiful. As soon as you walk in, you feel as if you have entered someone's living room. There are big, upholstered chairs, a fireplace, a table to play cards or talk, and water with lemon or orange. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful; there is nothing they won't do to help make your stay the best.

The rooms in the grand hotel are very big and offer both a sleeping area as well as an area with a couch, table, and area to relax. Having the coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator makes it even better. The rooms are incredibly clean - and we are VERY particular about hotels. The towels are fluffy and the bed is so comfortable.

We have never stayed in anything but the Grand Hotel, but I can say that every single stay has been fantastic. From staff to rooms to amenities - you won't be disappointed!

Don’t stay here
Pros:

This place was absolutely disgusting. Upon walking into the room, you could see the dirt and leftover food on the floor from whoever was there before us, there were hairs on the floor in the bathroom, the towels stunk, there was a blood stain on one of the pillows, and the room in general felt “wet.”
We came here for a wedding and stayed in the “Deluxe Wing” which is really a motel that has an upgraded bathroom.
The first night, I felt like I had bugs crawling on me and eventually went to sleep despite this. The second night, after the wedding, I found ants crawling on me, so needless to say the night before it wasn’t just a “feeling.”
This place was not cheap and is falsely advertised. We were ready to drive 4.5 hrs home in the middle of the night because it was so gross. As we were leaving today, we did a sweep of the room, and there was dirty underwear that was not ours left on the top shelf of the closet.
Stay at the holiday inn up the block.

Great views, great food, great staff
Pros:

Location, location, location! The hotel overlooks America’s pristine gem - Lake George. The hotel rooms are clean and well taken care of. The mattresses, however, are on the firm side. If that’s your cup of tea, you will be pleased.
There is also a lovely dining room with huge windows looking out at the lake. The food? Well, it is a hotel. What do you expect? In fact, you are in for a wonderful surprise. The staff is efficient, attentive (but not hovering) and the food is wonderful. The salmon chowder is superb and there are dishes - think venison bolognese that builds from a wonderfully light and fresh marinara - that show you are dealing with a chef and staff who deserve plaudits. This ain’t your average hotel grub.
And, as an added bonus, the hotel is right next to the actual reconstructed fort.

Fort William and Henry is a must stay!
Pros:

This is one of my favorite places to be! From the cleanliness of the hotel, to the courteous and entertaining ghost stories from the staff I look forward to coming here every year. The location could not be better! I always get the premium Lakeview rooms. You can see Lake George and the mountains and the fairies and are literally in the heart of Lake George. You do not need a car staying here. You can walk to anywhere in Lake George from this property. The atmosphere is super welcoming and the staff does anything to go out of their way to keep you happy! I absolutely love the cock at the Lakeside restaurant. He’s amazing and the food is the best in the area. You cannot beat the price I spent around $200 for a Lakeview 2 bed queen room. My room was super clean and very updated. The staff could not be nicer! I love the reenactment they have in March with the battles and beverages! The history of the fort is incredible and the reenactment they do with the Canon firing and the guns are just super entertaining. Excellent place for a couple couples family and even just being by yourself. A very beautiful safe and serene place to be.

Amazing property and staff
Pros:

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. It is one of the prettiest properties with a magnificent view of the lake. The staff is really wonderful. We actually came in the middle of a power outage and they were amazing at taking care of the guests in a tough situation.

The hotel is not new but it is well kept and you can’t beat the old world vibe. There is a veranda with rocking chairs where you can enjoy the beautiful views while having a drink. There is an expansive lawn where you can stroll while looking at the lake. A lovely restaurant with views and fire pits to relax in cool evenings.
