That it was close to the pier.
Nothing
We particularly enjoyed the closeness to the beach and the ocean view from the terrace. Beautiful to wake up to and go to sleep at night.
The lobby was kind of gloomy and needs an update. Also, in searching for a fair price, this was why we booked this hotel. Only to find, especially since we paid in advance, there’s a $15 plus tax charge PER NIGHT. This is not for incidentals as some hotels charge then refund. If we knew this in advance, we probably would’ve gone in a different direction.
Distance from the beach, and convenience store at hotel
Room was not cleaned very well. Bathroom floor was filthy. I asked for housekeeping but never had anyone clean our room.
Ive stayed here in the past, but it has changed since then.
For what I paid for 3 nights I was not happy.
On the ocean
Ogólnie ok. Balkon- super widok na ocean. Śniadania są- to już dużo.
Brudno.
Hotel is in a great location, right on the boardwalk. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.
I just got back from Virginia Beach, an almost ten-hour drive. My girlfriend had stayed at this facility ten years ago I believe. This resort is strange and probably was pristine when new but as others have said it needs cosmetic upgrades. It's supposedly owned and not part of a chain, but I am not totally sure. I feel as if the hotel is on a skeleton crew as there doesn't seem to be a lot of people working there. The parking garage is tight so watch once you park there. On bank of elevators goes from floors 2 to 9. The other goes till the 7th floor and is a single elevator bank.
We checked in late at 8 PM and got a corner room on 6th floor. Our daughter and her boyfriend were in the same room on the 3rd floor. The room is set up strange as it’s in a L shape as it’s on the corner of the hotel. There is a cabinet for clothes and suitcases, then there is a small step up to the main room. I guess I didn't check with booking.com but the room had two full beds and not two queens. At first, I thought I was in the wrong room. There is a tv, safe, microwave and mini fridge. There is a balcony that is very narrow with plastic lawn chairs. If you don't like heights, be careful. That said it's a great view of the beach. The room has strange decor, and I am not sure when it was done or painted? I am liberal on reviews because a place like this could use 5 million dollars for a facelift and it’s a lot for some chains to invest in. The room was nice as it was quiet. The only news was the F18As flying maneuvers off the Oceana Air Base.
We worked out at the gym and some dumbbells were missing. The pool was OK but was desolate. One nice part is that two bars are attached to the hotel. One, called Fishtails, was right on the boardwalk and a great place to people to watch. They have music Weds till Sunday. They had good happy hour specials. The Mexican bar sits right on Atlantic Ave next to the entrance. We went there on Friday night. It isn’t anything special but has a DJ. Getting there on a Saturday night was interesting as I didn’t see a lot of guests outside. I don’t know the history of the hotel, so I am not sure what it was like formerly? The best thing about this place is it is in a great location. You are right in the middle of everything.
On a side note, the service industry has just taken a nosedive. No one has help. Half the places you walk into you can’t tell who the customers are or who is working there. If you take the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and all the retail shops you could place it on Atlantic Avenue. Lots of gift shops and not the best food, it’s the same. In talking to people around there this has been a bad season for tourism and rebounding from COVID hasn’t really happened. Couple that with a bad economy and people don’t have money for vacations. I have talked to local musicians who say the area is tougher now to play music. The boardwalk was apparently packed years ago.
Location(close to night happening, pier,etc)
Loved the breakfast pancakes,so yummy
Toilet is quite small but the room is big
The location
It needs an upgrade to the whole building it was very dusty and we found multiple bugs in our room
Nice location the receptionist is very nice when we check in. After we went to the beach and rest the WiFi will not connect and called the front desk but not too helpful whoever answered the phone and told me that someone will call me back but nothing happened. If you have a business or work online this is not a good idea to be here.
We love the location and convenience
The tunnel traffic at Norfolk
Todo súper limpio
